Will also be interesting to see how Bruno & Mount operate. I suspect Mount will be stationed higher up, creating something closer to a 4-3-3 but performing a bit of a dual role getting back in alongside Mainoo.

Essentially what I meant; Eriksen’s role but with a bit more forward impetus owing to Mount’s superior running power.

Though I’d be interested to see if Bruno comes deeper to search for the ball from the defenders as I don’t think Mount really specialises in that side of the game.

Your first para is going to be the ‘only’ real difference (a significant one) in that role this season: Mount’s incredible mobility.

Meaning that he’ll be able to arrive earlier and risk a little more going forward, we’ll benefit from
his superior ability to press, and we’ll benefit from his recovery pace when the opposition beats the counterpress.

I don’t like reading too much into preseason but Antony has now had two “on a plate” goal scoring chances in the first few moments of consecutive games now and fluffed them both.

Needs to be doing a lot, lot better in those moments.

I think the thing about Antony is that when he gets in those positions I’ve got absolutely zero confidence he’ll score or execute a pass for a goal.

So pointless.

Garnacho as the 9 and Sancho on the left would make more sense for me. Sancho can't play that role at all.
