I think fellow Spurs fans need to stop being bitter about Harry Kane. It's not a good look but some of you thrive on looking like a plonker.
He is a great servant for the club. Record goal scorer for club and country.
He started the one of own chant. Obviously wants to do best by the club by going now so we get a ton of cash.
Can't knock the geezer. Look what he has done for Leyton Orient for example. Top bloke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can assure you that I’m not bitter, I think it’s best that he leaves for both his and THFCs sakes, I wish him all the best. I simply said that once he’d made it plain that he was looking to move, just like Sheringham and Berbatov before him, I lost any attachment to him. I think you’ll find that I acknowledged he is a great player in my original post. Using infantile language like ‘plonker’ degrades your argument.

In my head and heart Kane is going. I have peace with that now. Its a real shame but life goes on!
I agree with the OP re: a replacement.
It would be nice to think we get someone else in, have £20m spare to make sure we also get our top CB choices in and whatever happens beyond that is a bonus.
Im down for a reset. As per my post the other day, the core of the squad is quite young now and we are well placed to develop much of this group over 5 years as we did under Poch, but this time without the Stadium build tying our hands.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with the sentiment here but I don't think 20mln gets our CB targets (I think the Kane Money goes on 2 CBs. I think we back Richie for the first half of the season & review when the Jan window opens. Otherwise the 60mln we spent last summer was a total waste of money.... Gotta give players a chance in their best position in a formation that plays to their strength.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its more a case of £20m on top of whatever we currently have to spend on CBs .
Im sure there's money in the budget already and £20m would ease us towards the asking prices which are seemingly out of reach at the moment.

Cant other people work on CB signings? This Kane issue is such a smokescreen for lack of work by the staff in charge of incoming and outgoings. We needed a DoF for this.

But dont you think it changes our budgets if it happens.
If we sold Kane for £85m, threw £55m at Brentford for Toney (wouldnt be my first choice) and then have £30m to boost our CB transfer budget it could make all the difference. If we have £50m to spend on 2 CBs, making that £70-80m is a game changer!

Since Spurs signed Toby Alderweireld in 2015 for £12m, this has been our business at CB in the subsequent 8 years:
2016 - 0
2017 - Davinson Sanchez £42m
2018 - 0
2019 - 0
2020 - Joe Rodon £12m
2021 - Cuti Romero £42m
2022 - Clement Lenglet (Loan)
2023 - 0 (So Far)
Disgraceful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FOr 2015 - 2020 we had Toby & Jan, with Sanchez back up.
Its since then that it has been poor and TBH we're just 1 top class CB away since 2020, to add to Romero.

No disagree
Even when Jan and Toby were with us playing, we should have got decent backups specially young one with an eye to the future, and yet we didn't. We got Sanchez and no way in hell he could have been deemed good enough to be threat to either Jan or Toby.
So we wasted a chance there. Underfunding of gigantic proportions

Tbf they spent a lot on Sanchez exactly as that young back up who could replace Jan/Toby down the line. It was just poor scouting
So no news on how the meeting went has been published , Levy probably slid some paper across the table , the two German reps said , Fick dich Glatzkopf . Levy lent back in he’s chair and lit a cigar.
The meeting for today was cancelled apparently and rescheduled for Monday

Indeed, although to be fair again, Sanchez's first season he looked very strong, he just went to shiiit after that.
Levy needs to get the Centre Backs in by next Sunday… so they can play in the 2 friendlies, before the Brentford match…
Totally Incompetent otherwise …
Btw… why are we playing 2 friendlies in 2 days??!

I was making a statement 👍🏻

There’s no meeting today
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romano saying it's been postponed to next week. Same difference
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite a big difference between today and not today tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right, but whether it happens today or next week it seems like the meeting/move is happening

Since Spurs signed Toby Alderweireld in 2015 for £12m, this has been our business at CB in the subsequent 8 years:
2016 - 0
2017 - Davinson Sanchez £42m
2018 - 0
2019 - 0
2020 - Joe Rodon £12m
2021 - Cuti Romero £42m
2022 - Clement Lenglet (Loan)
2023 - 0 (So Far)
Disgraceful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FOr 2015 - 2020 we had Toby & Jan, with Sanchez back up.
Its since then that it has been poor and TBH we're just 1 top class CB away since 2020, to add to Romero.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Certain places reporting that Levy cancelled last minute as a tactic to be in control of negotiations, like he's Michael Scott or something

Fair play is what i say.
They want our player, they tap him up, they talk about him in the press, they show no respect for us....Fffhuck'em, if they want to talk they talk on our terms. When they arrive, i'd make them wait in reception for an hour!
Dont know why anyone would not support our stance on this!
