Surely the club know how their fans feel about him staying?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'd hope so but if they look online they'll see a lot of support for MG too.
What would you want LFC to do out of interest?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf the ones I’ve seen vocal for greenwood are largely African supporters. I don't mean anything by that as I’m sure many aren’t for his return, but have seen a large number on the likes of FB that are very pro greenwood that hail from African nations.

Well, it seems Utd will not bring Greenwood back as they have to ask the women's team as well. Funny they didn't ask the fans. Are we not the "stakeholders" they wanted to consult first?

I can totally understand why people want him away from the game. Public figure, privileged position, role-model to youngsters and he fcked up big time. I don’t agree, but I can understand it.
Where I have the problem is when people say, “don’t mind him playing elsewhere, but not for my club”
He’s still going to earn money, be a public figure, in a privileged position and be a role-model to youngsters.
Why is it ok that he carries on in the game, but not for us?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because we don't want to see him in a United shirt. What other clubs do is up to them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well then one can't take a moral position on it then as it would also be wrong for another club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course it's possible to take a moral position on it. We have no influence on other clubs.

Quite simply I don't want him representing United. As a big club with clout we could set an example here that morals are bigger than money/trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.
Personally, I don’t want to be associated with any organisation that is prepared to excuse that kind of behaviour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where does that stop though?
If we sell him to a lower league team that competes in the FA Cup, do we all boycott that?
Or if we sell him to a CL club, would you abandon the CL?
It’s a tricky one, for sure.

Quite simply I don't want him representing United. As a big club with clout we could set an example here that morals are bigger than money/trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.
Personally, I don’t want to be associated with any organisation that is prepared to excuse that kind of behaviour.

Where does that stop though?
If we sell him to a lower league team that competes in the FA Cup, do we all boycott that?
Or if we sell him to a CL club, would you abandon the CL?
It’s a tricky one, for sure.

Well, it seems Utd will not bring Greenwood back as they have to ask the women's team as well. Funny they didn't ask the fans. Are we not the "stakeholders" they wanted to consult first?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
for the comback to work if paying United supporters didnt celebrate if he scored... or booed him at OT, live on TV, all around the World.... his position would be instantly untenable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, that is hurting my head, for the comeback to work everyone needs to boo him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well if you regard a comeback that works is one that results in that he has to leave... then yes.

Ah, so you mean for it not to work.
