100% no.

ENIC are only interested in Spurs to use us as a vehicle for their profitability. Over 20 years of ownership and they have shown very limited ambition in delivering a successful football club; selling our best players, failing repeatedly to capitalise on positions of strength, selling managers short and letting the fans down. In recent years we’ve had furloughing of staff, the ESL fiasco, failing to make a signing for 18 months for the best manager we’ve had in the PL era, sacking a trophy winning coach 6 days before a final to white wash the ESL fiasco. Between Ange and Nuno we have gone over 5 months in the last 2 years without a head coach at all. Appointing a crook as DoF with no due diligence, Joe Lewis himself being arrested on fraud charges damaging the reputation of the club, and putting ticket prices up 20% while selling our best ever player on the opening day of the season. The current concessions scandal at the club is a disgrace, long term loyal fans being treated like crap to herd more tourists into the ground. The fact ENIC are a faceless corporation that have no communication or relationship with the fans. Nobody ever knows what’s going on at the club, what the strategy is etc. Just an annual token letter from ‘Daniel COYS’.

They haven’t been there 2 minutes. They’ve been there 2 decades and have FAILED to turn us into anything resembling a vaguely successful or ambitious football club. The only thing we have any kudos for is our stadium, that is how ENIC measure their success - why? Because it’s a money maker. They have succeeded in turning THFC into one element of a broader sports and entertainment corporation operating out of ENIC Stadium. NFL, boxing, concerts, football, we have it all! But the onus isn’t on the football club. Despite being owned by a guy worth £5am they quibble over a few million for a PL proven goalkeeper and give their new manager a cheap alternative, but as soon as the NFL pitch needs upgrading or the golf course hotel needs renovating, they can’t find money quick enough. Joe Lewis is a disgraceful proxy owner, a vile parasite who never attends games and who has never put not a penny of his own money into the club (only outdone by the Glaziers by virtue of their debt). Yet they charge our fans among the highest ticket prices in Europe.

They have used us as a vehicle to increase their wealth as an organisation - our PL status, supplemented by stadium revenue, and their Spurs related portfolio of property investment.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like they are war mongers or human rights abusers like some owners, we can’t throw that at them, but any supporters of ENIC must accept that we will never, ever, be a successful football club under their ownership. That has never, and will never happen, because of their business model. For me, I want them out immediately for this reason and be use they do not give a toss about true Spurs fans. As long as ENIC Stadium is packed with tourists every week tapping their credit cards away, they are happy. Champagne prices for a lemonade football club.

Profitability before fans. Profitability before ambition. Always.

ENIC Out.

Spurs reached their only CL final in their history under ENIC. But are not vaguely resembling a football club.

Levy will never change, Ange will be left with a short squad 100%, even now our recruitment has ground to a halt when we are crying out for another CB, DM and CF.

It`s the same nonsense as always, with Levy dragging out deals until the last knockings of the window, to try and save a few quid, and ultimately picking up opportunistic signings instead of those the manager actually asks for, all in the name of the balance sheet.

Vintage Levy.

Levy out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're right Billy. You were always right. I feel I owe you an apology for backing Levy at the time. He won't change now. We're pretty much treading water until someone else comes in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He ain’t the only one mate. I have been on the bandwagon warning everyone for years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough Don. I just think he was the most vocal at one stage. Every article by Billy seemed to be about getting Levy out so I noticed his more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don has always been the biggest ENIC out poster on the board. The problem with that is if Spurs do actually win some (a) trophy under ENIC, then Don will look a bit of a doughnut, along with all the other ENIC out fanatics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly sandy. I have been ENIC and Levy out for 10 years. 23 years with 1 league cup i don’t think so mate. We should be winning trophies

So are you now calling nearly 50,000 season ticket holders tourist fans. Stop insulting our supporters. Honestly I give up with some supporters. Get yourself down to WHL sometime, yes like all clubs, there will be tourists, but there are some very long standing supporters like myself that still attend in massive numbers.

Do you actually attend WHL, or are you one of those that just comes on football forums, gives their view, but never goes near a football stadium.

Yes Sandy, Simon B & Bryan Strong.

Oh wait, that’s the same person.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't take anything he says seriously. He comes on here as Simon B, writes a comment, logs out, logs in with a new email and username and then echoes the same sentiment as Sandy. Seriously, I have no idea what the point is. It's laughable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs will not compete for the big trophies long term under Enic/levy in my opinion.

They portray them as a big club (they are) but operate like a bargain basement club

Of the current top 6 (I hate that term) imo they are most likely to be the ones to drop out and be replaced by Newcastle

I like the manager and his style of play and will enjoy watching when the can but with those owners he’s operating with one hand tied behind his back
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh because Spurs don`t spend a billion like Chelsea, they are acting as a bargain basement club. What a load of tosh.

They spend enough, just not what the financially doped clubs spend. Nothing wrong with that.

Football is all but finished anyway. Its as uncompetitive as it as ever been in my lifetime. Even when clubs like Liverpool in the 1970s and Man United in the the 1990s were winning multiple titles, the other domestic trophies were up for grabs. Not anymore.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The simple narrative of not spending big = no ambition is for the simple.

Spurs have Bissouma £25m, Arsenal have Rice £105m

Spurs have Maddison £40m, Arsenal have Havertz £65m.

£65m spend vs £170m spend. Have we gone bargain basement? Which pair would you rather buy?

Indeed for less than what Arsenal have spent in those positions, we have secured Romero, Maddison, Bentancur, Deki, Bissouma, Udogie. The foundation of our team for years to come and players that we all like and can get behind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's very easy to cherry pick good deals for us and bad deal for them. The truth is that it should be a mixture of the two shouldn't it? That's what I'd alluded to in the previous post. Arsenal bought Martinelli for £6m, Odergaard for £30m plus many more for competitive prices. They then developed a squad capable of getting CL football and once they were in, they showed financial ambition to match the on field achievements. That's why they went big on Rice and Havertz. Whether they're a success or not is irrelevant. If Levy tried to sign a player and put a bid in of over 80/90/100m I think we'd applaud the ambition but still question whether we chose the right player. They're too different things. The issue is that Levy never will. The financial ambition at Spurs only matches the on-field ambition up until CL qualification is achieved, then it slows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Would you have been happier is Maddison cost us £75m and Bisouma £50m because i am look at the quality there and judging what player we have bought, not the fee.

Lest we forget our record signing who is one of the biggest flops ever.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course not but we've NEVER spent over £60m on anyone therefore you can only come to the conclusion that we have a ceiling, regardless of the quality of the player. Look, bargains are out there, but occasionally you have to spend big to get that missing piece. If you're always shopping in the reduced section, you've either got to be really, really smart or you will pick up more misses than hits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, what's Maddison's true worth. If we wanted to prise him away from Leicester a year ago what would they have been asking, £70m? £80m?

Yes sometimes we have gone for the cheaper option and it hasnt worked. But we have also gone for the expensive option and it hasnt worked.

We are all looking forward to seeing Maddison, Bentancur and Bissouma as our midfield - they cost £20m less than Rice. Judge on the quality we buy, not the price of it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's precisely the point though. If you need Maddison to truly improve your team, go out and get him regardless of his contractual situation. It seems to me that the only reason we showed interest is because his club was relegated and he was in the last year of his deal. For me, these shouldn't be the measure of whether someone is signed on not. You should be going for someone on their footballing ability and their general fit to the system, not whether they're a bargain or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bang On Mate....... Madders should have been Eriksen's direct replacement 3 years ago !!! Look how far the club has fallen because Levy took the cheap option of paying ill-suited managers with winning records, instead of paying transfer fees for the RIGHT players that actually win you games.

It's got b{}gger all about whether Spurs spend money.... we all know they do, its the lack football intelligence from Levy that's holding us back.... Poor recruitment, poor signings, poor managerial appointments & total lack of joined up thinking & direction. The list goes on & on ! All the Enic defenders point to is a shiny toilet bowl of a stadium and the fact its better than it was under bloody Irvin Scholar.... Wake up and live in the NOW.... Drives me mental. We just finished 8th, no European football, We've been on a downward trend for 3 years & our best player for the past 20 years has walked coz he's fed up with it..... Heads should have rolled at the top.. Thats LEVY (Nobody else is responsible !)

He is the worst guy imaginable to be running a PL football club in 2023. If you wanna bask in the glory of our revenue and balance sheet stability, then I suggest you get a life..... I'll pass
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL , Levy the worse guy going to be running a football club. Get a grip fella. HTF do you know what goes on at WHL, you live in the States?

One season of finishing 8th and the whole world at Spurs collapses according to you. Yet you praise the like of Chelsea, spending £800 million and finishing 12th.

I really don`t get you sometimes Diamond. Why do you constantly blame Levy? It`s like you have some personal agenda against someone I wager you have never met.

Very strange.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't praise Chelsea, city or anyone else. I just don't like the way Enic run Spurs

I think Spurs could have spent exactly the same amount of money as Enic have over the past 10 years with someone with a different approach to Daniel Levy running the club and won trophies and been more successful.

I fully respect your view to disagree
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course you can praise anyone you like. But can you give me a reason for praising Chelsea from going from 4th to 12th despite spendig £800 million. If that had been Spurs, you would have been throwing your toys out of the pram bigtime. Daniel Levy would have been getting a right old kicking from you with that sort of spend, and going back eight places.

Just curious to know why you would praise Chelsea, when their business model is a complete clusterfeck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I repeat,..... I'm not praising Chelsea, I pointed out in your silly article yesterday that they are simply not breaking any rules or doing anything illegal. Whether it works or not... I have no idea. They just have different business model. What I did say is that they are clearly trying to win now with a high risk approach. Fair play to them.

I don't trust Daniel Levy to spend 100mln quid well in the same way I don't expect him to spend 10mln quid well. I think the main is a clown who fails to balance fiscal responsibility with looking after the best interests of his football team. Our revenue combined with our lack of trophies during his tenure illustrate this. !!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we know it doesn`t work. Chelsea went from 4th to 12th despite spending £800 million. Is that the business model you want for Spurs?

I support the team

I’m hoping some of our hysterical fans don’t top themselves if we lose a few games or don’t sign a player they want before the window closes.

We need to be patient with Ange and the team.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow, first home game of the season and against United it should be good

Keep the faith

C O Y S
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good man Hounslows. We mustn`t let the dreary bunch of moaners. with their endless negativity, stop the supporters who really want to get behind the team.

Enjoy the game tomorrow. I couldn`t get a ticket. And I wasn`nt going to pay £100 for one on ticket exchange, I am a pensioner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right now, getting behind the club and getting behind the team are 2 VERY different things. I think it's perfectly reasonable to do one and not the other. Given our current situation, you could argue those that do both are nothing more than sheep
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worse than that. By validating one, they're holding up the progress of the other.

That`s not the point. The point is you don`t know anymore than the rest of us what goes on at WHL on a day to day basis. You don`t know the financial situation at Spurs either, unless your are privy to the day to day financial running of the club.

Just support the club, and stop worrying about things that you have absolutely zero control over. Daniel Levy aint leaving, so why keep going on about him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What makes you any more privy to information than him? It's a global sport now Sandy. It's not just who goes through the turnstiles.

Levy is holding Spurs back Sandy. That's why Diamond, myself and a load of other posters take issue with him. If it wasn't for protests and objections, you'd be working a 7 day week and women wouldn't even have a say so don't tell me that there's nothing we can do about it. If you sit back and accept it, nothing will ever change. We have the ability to switch off, not turn up, protest and make Levy's association with Spurs untenable. We can't force his hand to sell but we can make it difficult to say no to a decent bid. How on earth can you just sit there and not be bothered by the current direction of the club? You accuse the rest of us of not being proper fans but I'd throw the same accusation back at you. If you back ENIC, you're not backing Spurs.

Always.

ENIC Out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100%. It's hard for any fan, pro ENIC or not, to argue against these facts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your obsession with the match-going fans echoes the fossil-like opinions you have. Football is global now. Diamond watching from the States has as much of a right to an opinion on all things Spurs as you do, however you always seem to throw shade on anyone that chooses not to attend for various reasons. That speaks of a complete and utter lack of understanding of how the game has changed and why your opinions on all things Spurs come across so out-dated. Only in this thread you defended them by saying that we were worse in 2001 before they took over, like that's a credible defence .

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we know it doesn`t work. Chelsea went from 4th to 12th despite spending £800 million. Is that the business model you want for Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea’s business model is to win trophy after trophy Sandy, so yes I want that for our club. You seem hellbent on us consistently being failures. Us following our current methods have got us 1 league cup in 23 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea's current business model seems to be about bankrupting the club.

Don Chelsea only won trophies because of their Lottery win where they were able to gain a massive advantage over the competitive. Surely you must see that. Same with City.

Chelsea's business model for most of their history was to avoid relegation, prior to the money. Same with City.

ENIC and Levy have done a lot of good for the club. ENIC especially have been benevolent and while not putting huge amounts in, have invested the money the club earns back into it.

That said, there's no defending the lack of success on the pitch. The same reason we've been so good at the business side is the reason we've not won anything of note in their time. Pragmatism, risk aversion, over-thinking straightforward decisions. Missed opportunities that could've made a difference at key moments because there wasn't a strategy to win things, but ensure that we're profitable in the short term.

I'm not going to vilify Levy. I genuinely think he's doing his best for (what he believes are) the right reasons. And I still hold out some hope that the Munn appointment and DoF search tells us that he knows he's not getting those key football decisions right. But I do want him out of all football-related things ASAP. I kind of hope the case against Lewis will turn up some stuff that forces his hand and he has to do a Paratici-style withdrawal.

The fac I live in the US is totally irrelevant... I can fly home from NY quicker than a Spurs fan living in Scotland can drive it !
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sure Levy is worried about you Fridge and others when he us selling out every match in an hour of tickets going on sale.

Protests of 50 people are a waste of time, when 60 000 are still going through the turnstiles every match.

How is selling out every match making Levy's time at Spurs untenable?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fac I live in the US is totally irrelevant... I can fly home from NY quicker than a Spurs fan living in Scotland can drive it !
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sure Levy is worried about you Fridge and others when he us selling out every match in an hour of tickets going on sale.

Protests of 50 people are a waste of time, when 60 000 are still going through the turnstiles every match.

How is selling out every match making Levy's time at Spurs untenable?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
agree with you Sandy

Our protests are akin to a mosquito bite for Levy.. Inconvenient no more no less...

We are so fkn weak as a fan base, even refs favour giving dodgy decision to the oppositions

Watch Utd - they are the kings and get what they demand

Always.

ENIC Out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So are you now calling nearly 50,000 season ticket holders tourist fans. Stop insulting our supporters. Honestly I give up with some supporters. Get yourself down to WHL sometime, yes like all clubs, there will be tourists, but there are some very long standing supporters like myself that still attend in massive numbers.

Do you actually attend WHL, or are you one of those that just comes on football forums, gives their view, but never goes near a football stadium.
Only in this thread you defended them by saying that we were worse in 2001 before they took over, like that's a credible defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Diamond is entitled to an opinion, as am I. And if course he doesn't have to attend to watch Spurs.

But he stated that WHL is filled up with tourists, which it clearly is not. And HTF would he know anyway if he does nattend?

You neither. I think you said you don't go either. But you both have plenty to say on those that actually do attend WHL.

Football hasn't changed fella. Even 60 years ago I knew plenty that gobbed of about football when they had never set foot in a ground in their life.

LOL I have forgotten more about Spurs than you have hot dinners.

Amusing how posting an opinion can be called a WUM.
