the DL haters hopefully will be silenced as the season progresses
----

Why would they be silenced just because the team's playing well?

One second-rate trophy in 22 years with one of the biggest budgets in English football isn't really something that a few months of acceptable footy can easily wash away. Spurs must've participated in about 100 tournaments in that time, with very little to show for it whilst the owners have lined their pockets winning the one title that really matters to them: "most profitable club".
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This. Daniel Levy gets zero appreciation. It’s all Ange this working without one of the best strikers on the planet. Levy still hasn’t backed him fully. If anything, he’s made Ange’s job harder. Levy gets zero credit for the start and regardless of what we do, nobody is getting silenced. Ange 👏
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly nothing to do with DL.

Is he the manager?

Does he set out the tactics?

No. If anything he can do a lot more by buying another striker and defender asap and accept lesser fees for the deadwood.

Then you would get more performances like yesterday.

What a stupid comment as usual.

The way we played was down to Ange 🤦🏾

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is nothing to do with DL.

Sandys point is that the DL haters blame him for everything, even when some things are nothing g to do with DL

A bit of balance is needed from some when apportioning credit and blame.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Devonshire. A bit of balance is needed. Levy gets far to much unwarranted stick. If Spurs do go on to have a good season, the DL haters will still be at it.

Yes, some of the stuff may be warranted, but most of it is completely unwarranted nonsense.

Fortunately the 61,000 in the stadium yesterday thought so as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The 61,000 were cheering for Ange Sandy, not Daniel Levy. Come back to me when Levy provides our manager with a Harry Kane replacement and another CB. We are still 1 injury away from the dreaded Sanchez or Dier. This is your man Levy. When he backs the manager fully, then he gets credit. This start is down to Ange, not Daniel Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, sorry mate, but you want to buy every player that moves, with little or no idea of where the money is going to come from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No Sandy, I want a Harry Kane replacement. He’s just sold our best player for 100 million and hasn’t replaced him. You make constant excuses for this chairman. Richarlison gets injured then what? Romero or VDV get injured then what? We are back to the 2 clowns again Sanchez and Dier. You consistently accept mediocrity.

Kane left on the eve of the season. Levy didn't want to sell, but Kane said he wanted out. Sensible decision, otherwise he walks away for free in 12 months.

Glad you ain't running Spurs.

Sandy your "kids in a sweetshop" comment is spot on.

No one is saying that Levy is faultless. He made plenty of mistakes and in the last 3 years these have cost us, but as Bissouma has shown, the mistakes are not limited to DL. Actually DL got an amazing deal over the line for Conte, £25m for Bissouma is amazing when Rice et al are costing 100m. From then on it was Conte who made the poor decisions.

Spurs have Bis & Mads for 65m , a CM pairing that just played Uniteds 125m duo off the park.

Spurs have to shop carefully and in those 2 signings they have done what we have been so good at over the years. Our list of expensive flops much worse. Carefully selected, quality, right player for the right system is what we need to do. Not waste the money we now have from kane, not rush into a buy when we have options already, not over spend silly money.

Fans need to pipe down with the anti DL, especially those who contribute nothing to the club. Get behind the team in this new era, and just park all the negativity for now.

DL gets slagged off for hiring Conte and Jose, both of which were not exactly in the bargain basement, but no credit for hiring Ange.

We have scored 4 goals in 2 games after selling a 30 year old in the last year of his contract for £100m, admittedly too late in the window.

He has built a stadium that is the envy of Europe and made sure that it will earn revenue not just once or twice a week.

Given what Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Utd have spent on midfielders recently, the three who played for us yesterday must be worth a fortune, yet the moaners on here are now demanding even more signings. "Ohhh, what we will do if X or Y is injured?"

The anti DL/ENIC brigade should be careful what they wish for

and we have a stadium debt and we had already spent a lot of money on the likes of Madison and there is a wage bill to take into account. I am no Levy fan but its not like swapping football cards, balancing the books on a club the size of Spurs is no easy task.

If I have a complaint its how when we do spend big money we spend it in the wrong direction. I have questioned the purchase of Richarlson since the day we bought him, why on earth did we spend that money on a very average player? Look at the waste of the Bale money for example, the purchase of the likes of Darren Bent or David Bentley.

I cant say that Levy is responsible for all of that but if he is he should be shot for wasting so much rather than talk about who he has not bought.

The stadium is supposed to pay for itself with the revenue it makes and the way the debt structured. If we are saying we are selling Harry Kane to pay off stadium debt then we have a serious issue that the fans should be rioting about. We’ve spent £60m net this summer, assuming we don’t factor in the Porro and Kulu deals as these are players that were already at the club. You cannot sell Harry Kane and leave the manager with a donkey like Richarlison. That is unacceptable - we are a wealthy club and don’t let anyone delude you into thinking otherwise.

Who would you have played instead of PEH last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just about anybody, even when Bissouma was for PEH started before him thanks to Conte so dont give me that.

The basic requirements for a midfield player are to win the ball and be able to pass the ball. I am not blind PEH won the ball reasonably but could not pass to save his life. Before you try dont roll out an example of when he set a goal up which he did occasionally but generally his passing was a disgrace and 90% of them were backwards. Yes Bissouma was injured late on but that does not alter the fact that PEH was picked in front of him virtually every game before he got injured.

Having seen what Bissouma CAN do over the last two games I would like anybody to attempt to justify EVER picking PEH over Bissouma.

You’ve literally just answered your own question about where the money comes from. We just sold an an academy player for £100m.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

and we have a stadium debt and we had already spent a lot of money on the likes of Madison and there is a wage bill to take into account.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The stadium is supposed to pay for itself with the revenue it makes and the way the debt structured. If we are saying we are selling Harry Kane to pay off stadium debt then we have a serious issue that the fans should be rioting about. We’ve spent £60m net this summer, assuming we don’t factor in the Porro and Kulu deals as these are players that were already at the club. You cannot sell Harry Kane and leave the manager with a donkey like Richarlison. That is unacceptable - we are a wealthy club and don’t let anyone delude you into thinking otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yrs the club are wealthy, but just because they now have a hundred million pound kitty from the Kane sale, don't mean they should just go out and spunk it up the wall by the end of the week.

You sound like a lottery winner, that won and spent it all in six months.

According to Ange the club has known they were selling Kane all summer. So it’s not a case of being given the money then going out and blowing it. They should have a strategy in place, a succession plan with a replacement scouted and targeted to come in. That’s how efficient football clubs operate. The fact we’ve sold a 30 goal a season striker and are two games into the season with no apparent replacement ready is a disgrace. If Levy leaves Ange with Richarlison as his Kane replacement then it will be yet another example of Levy’s penny pinching, profit before ambition, sell the manager short approach.

Maybe like all the fans Levy hoped that Kane would sign a new contract, I know I did even tho it was extremely unlikely

Levy can ‘sell off the family silver’ a term that some use to describe Brighton. But only if he doesn’t leave us with a plastic spork and knife to attack this PL season.

Back the manager he has already proven himself more capable that the couple of big names that came before him.

Don’t be ridiculous, Levy will have known for a long time that Kane wasn’t signing a new deal, he micro manages every facet of the club. Even if he had 10% hope that Kane might change his mind it’s irrelevant as the very prospect that he might go should mean succession planning, preparing and scouting. We currently don’t have a proper striker, we’ve gone from the best striker in the clubs history to some Brazilian pigeon dancer that used to play on the wing for Everton and couldn’t hit a cows arris with a banjo. It’s unacceptable and not the behaviour of a serious or ambitious football club.

In fact PEH has had a very decent season, and always gives 100 per cent.

PEH is absolute and total crap, His passing is atrocious, his control is dreadful, his positioning is pretty bad and he cant even make a professional foul successfully.

As for 100 per cent, a 100% of crap is still crap. Sanchez always gives 100% as well does that make him a good player? Brian Gill gives 100% does that make him any good?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To you he is. But to most Spurs supporters he is fine. You obviously have a silly agenda against him. Mind you I think you rated Winks, so not sure your opinion carries much weight.

I wouldn`t call Bissouma three times the player of PEH. In fact PEH has had a very decent season, and always gives 100 per cent.

I think that clears up your opinions on Bissouma nd PEH dont you? Oh of course that was last season and you change like the weather dont you?

Sorry am I getting "cocky"?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with the points you have made.

What irritates is that Levy does not look like he learns from the footballing mistakes he has made since owning Spurs.

No fan on here expects or wants Levy to bankrupt Spurs, but why does it seem we have been "penny pinching" from the days of making £40m revenue a year to £400m.

It's proper small minded.
