This has all the ingredients to be an absolutely terrible game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep. Wolves have only had 39 shots on goal in their 2 games this season with an XG of 4.41, so there is unlikely to be any action. Thanks for your input.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was going to say if you're happy with a 1 in 39 conversion rate you can have my ticket for the next home game and I'll go and play cricket instead. Cricket season will be bloody finished before the next home game though.

No good shooting if you’re not rippling the ‘ol onion bag.

Of course I'm not happy with the conversion rate, but if we keep creating chances the goals will come. Our players are low on confidence in front of goals because we have had years of creating hardly anything.

A lot of talk today of Fosun selling up

posted on 24/8/23

Yeah, seen a couple of bits on twitter from reasonably trustworthy people saying somethings happening. Could be the long touted 3rd party investment too though.

Fosun's actions don't seem to align with a sale to me, yes you'd make an effort to make the books look as healthy as possible but you wouldn't jeopardise future long time profitability by selling off your most prized assets.

Talk of Podence to Celtic being ramped up with Wolves indicating they are willing to reduce the asking price in order to get him off the books

Anyone seen the latest from Mike Dean about how he deliberately didn't send a ref to the monitor when on VAR as he wanted to protect his mate? Basically admitted that they sometimes deliberately don't make the right call.

Yes saw that Mike Dean quote, not surprising is it? Do wonder if its him after attention now that he's out of the spotlight though.

Evidently, and perhaps inevitably, although still a surprise to some, Man City's interest in Nunes is waning following the announcement of Bernardo Silva's contract extension.

Bit too much interest in wolves players in the market at the moment. Latest one is Boubacar Traore who is evidently wanted by Borussia Moenchengladbach. Could open the door to some kind of exchange deal with Elvedi but Traore is not a player I’d like to see leave

There are a lot clubs looking for a goal scorer at the moment.

Thankfully, they won't be bothering us.

Wolves play their third PL2 game of the season tonight. They travel to Bishop Auckland to face Middlesbrough at 19:00. Boro have drawn their first two games while Wolves have lost both theirs

They're rumoured to be prepping a £60 million bid, so I'm not sure that qualifies as their interest waning.

And reports now saying they may be prepared to offer Tommy Doyle as part of the deal

posted on 25/8/23

I bet poor old Tommy is thrilled at that...

posted on 25/8/23

Not really interested in Tommy Doyle. McAtee would be the one I would want.

posted on 25/8/23

He's the lad that went on load to Sheff U isn't he? Has he actually ever played for City?

posted on 25/8/23

He did well at Sheffield Utd, key part of their promotion. Good player and if we got him thrown in the deal as virtually a freebie, then why not

posted on 25/8/23

Both McAtee and Doyle were on loan at Sheffield United last year. Doyle is more defensive whereas McAtee is an attacking midfielder who score 9 goals. McAtee would be more of a replacement for Nunes and able to play in advanced roles.

posted on 25/8/23

I don’t doubt McAtee is a good player but my understanding is City don’t want to sell him. They would be interested in loaning him out though so maybe we should go for him

Doyle though seems to be on offer as part of a deal for Nunes and would probably be a good squad player

posted on 25/8/23

We don't want to sell Nunes, but if it makes a deal then City might be more open to it. I don't see the point in signing Doyle when he would be behind Gomes, Lemina and Traore, whilst not offering something different like Nunes does. Would rather we took extra money and used it to bring in someone like Brownhill who we have been linked with.

Rumours that Chiquinho's loan is being terminated due to attitude problems.

posted on 25/8/23

Don’t see any harm in having 4 defensive midfield players to cover 2 positions and O’Neil has said he would like two players for each position.

Nunes is a different kettle of fish and would be difficult to replace in the next week even with money in the bank. Can’t say I’ve seen enough of Brownhill to comment on how suitable he would be

Moutinho’s planned move to join Porto has fallen through and he has instead signed for Braga
