Thing is though (and playing devils advocate) the club have to put what they think is best for the club over what it best for an individual (however ruthless that may sound). Weghorst with hindsight was absolutely garbage, did we have a young striker who was that highly regarded at the time who’s career could have been ruined had they been given that opportunity?

I was against using Fernandez because I felt Cucarella was a loan that made a lot of sense, I feel that isn’t the case with Reguilon. I guess each manager is different, if we had LVG now I’m sure he’d have no issue playing Fernandez at LB.

Come the January window he might not even be appearing in our matchday squads anymore. Shaw will be first choice. It's whether he can wrestle the back up role off Malacia full time or not. Time will tell.

Think the deal had collapsed before the game tbh. Hence why he played 90mins. Very much doubt that was an oversight on their side.

It’s being reported as the reason we’ve stopped our interest in him though.

I'm embracing the madness and mediocrity now. I have given up on thinking this club can compete for the PL and CL under the Glazers. It won't happen ever again.
