12pm Lunchtime
There should be no heartburn.
We are run by imbeciles.
Doing this much business on the last day is a sign of desperation.
Reckon we’ll announce the backup keeper and shiyte lb and fumble the Amrabat deal to cap off a poor window.

Not always. There are quite functional clubs that complete some of their transfers as the window closes (and United did it sometimes under Gill & Fergie, e.g. with Berbatov). Sometimes due to a calculation that the best price will be achieved by playing brinkmanship with a club that can't afford not to sell. Sometimes because a deal can't be done sooner for reasons that can't be controlled unilaterally.
This summer United managed to close deals for three key targets before the season started. We obviously needed to raise money before spending more significant sums, and that task was more complicated due to the legacy mistakes of the Woodward era, with mediocre players on too high salaries.
If we do bring in Amrabat, how would everyone rate this window compared to last summer? I guess success is something we can only judge with hindsight, but for me it would be similar at least in terms of addressing gaps in the squad.

This window has just been underwhelming for me tbh even if we sign Amrabat. Mount just depressed me.
Scott McTominay and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg are Fulham's top two targets to replace João Palhinha, who wants to join Bayern Munich. [Sky]
Altay Bayindir signs as new Man United goalkeeper, here we go! Turkish GK will be new backup option to replace Dean Henderson #MUFC
Fenerbahçe will receive fee in the region of €6/7m.

1 down, 2 to go
What a summer of goalkeeper movement at the club.
Butland loan expired
De Gea released
Onana signed
Kovar sold
Henderson sold
Bayindr signed
If we get Amrabat imo it’s a 7/10 window
If we don’t it’s a 4

Let's wait and see how the players bed in. We don't know exactly how ETH's plans are supposed to come together and I guess he has specific ideas about how he wants to use players (including Mount) and while he wanted their particular attributes. We did see in the first couple of matches that deploying Mount resulted in winning the ball high up the pitch more often than we used to last season. I wouldn't waste emotional energy getting depressed about a signing until the player, the tactical system, and the other new players who are part of it have bedded in.
But setting aside whether we like the individuals, this summer has seen:
- Replacing a shot-stopped-only GK with a proactive and playmaking GK.
- Finally adding a specialist CF to our squad.
- Replacing Fred with a player with similar energy but greater tactical discipline and technical security.
If today brings also us a deep-lying playmaker (another profile that's absent from our squad) who also offers cover for Casemiro, then in terms of profiles and squad balance, I think it's a big step forward. In terms of quality, time will tell. In the meantime, I'd counsel against taking the toaster into the bathtub.
Sergio Reguilon has signed Man Utd contract & final paperwork being completed before move from Tottenham confirmed. Exits #THFC on season-long loan, no fee or buy option, break clause in Jan, full wage covered by #MUFC.

So this gives us 14 hours to thrash out Amrabat now. Let’s see how we get on.
Can't remember we made a lot of loans under SAF, only Larsson came to mind.
Now we're turning into Loan FC
I have to admit I don’t completely understand the finances of it but we have heard that we needed to sell to buy this last very weeks, but we have also been told that academy players are much for valuable (in terms of what they mean to the balance sheet when you sell them) than signed players. So if we have sold Henderson for 15/20 and mengi for some kind of fee, then, even taking the new keeper into consideration, I would assume we should have the money for Amrabat who is being touted at 20m, rather than fumbling along for a loan????
We’ve just signed our first ever Turkish player lads.
Is the keeper we’ve signed the one that had some silly Twitter compilation of all his mistakes doing the rounds?
Anyone know if he’s any good at all, or good potential?
Is he similar in profile to Onana?

I don't know if Amrabat is the right player, but his profile would have been close to my top priority for the window.
By the way, no one seems to be suggesting that buying Amrabat depends on selling McTominay. Am I setting myself up for disappointment in wondering whether it's other way around, and a McTominay sale is pending closure of the Amrabat deal, and with that revenue coming in we can go out and buy Tobido? ...which in turn convinces Maguire he's got to leave...
Anything from a 4/10 to 10/10 window outcome. The stakes are high!

Said this on the wrong thread, but he’ll be great for the dressing room, if he brings his Mrs to work with him.

If all the stuff about Amrabat waiting for us since June, refusing any other clubs that have made offers etc are true then he’ll become a fan favourite at OT.

What's with Jonathan's obsession with Amrabat? Behaving like he's prime Makelele.
Did you buy the new shirt with his name on the back?
Is he actually any good? Surely there are better alternatives out there?
If we sell McTominay today and Amrabat comes in we will be short in midfield. We need strength in depth seeing as we’re in 4 competitions this season.
