Title charge incoming for Tottenham

This article is as predictable as they come.

No one bar maybe Liverpool are getting close to Man City over the course of a season.

5th would be a big success for us this year and get us back into the CL and as long as we finish in a Euro spot and don’t flunk the FA cup in the usua manner then I will be happy.

Lastly our squad (not first 11) is nowhere near strong enough

Looks like I’m the only one you have reeled in here Sandy, clearly being a bit too obvious

Liverpool, yeh your getting sucked in by the usual media hype. They have been sneaking results this season. Hey couldn't beat a woeful Chelsea, beat Bournemouth at home, who Spurs beat comfortably away, and Newcastle gofted then victory, last weekend. They are nowhere as good as everyone thinks. I expect Spurs to beat them reasons comfortably when the two clubs meet at WHL.

Youve expected spurs to beat liverpool comfortably for 4 years running now.

I guess it'll happen at some point so you can tell us all you told us so.

Sandy, isn't it always around about the time you do your 'insane hype' article every year that Spurs go on a run of horrible results forcing you to vanish for a couple of months?

Have you already booked your flights to Thailand or something?

So which four clubs are finishing in front of Spurs? Even last season Spurs were well placed until Bentancur got injured. This season the midfield is several levels above last season's midfield.. So why not a title charge?

Anyway one of us will be right come the end of the season.

Different Spurs team now. And even last year's Spurs should have beaten Liverpool in both games. Be warned, then you won't be disappointed.

As a glaswegian who has no affiliation to either old firm side, I thoroughly enjoyed watching ange's celtic team. Ive no doubts youve landed yourselves a top manager there and there will be some exciting times ahead. My opinion is though of all the teams out there, we are exactly the kind of team who will expoilt ange's tactics on the break.

We'll see soon enough. 1 things for sure, there will be goals a plenty.

Agree that Spurs are due a win against Liverpool. You have to wonder how many years of spankings can one club take?

I predicted before a ball had been kicked, that Spurs were a shoe in for top four without the distraction of European football. Now that the season has started, and the new look Spurs are playing some lovely football, my aims and I suspect the clubs have gone higher. Also remember Spurs are the only club in the Prem that regularly beat Man City, which has to happen if they are to be toppled.

Good things Spurs have never had to play 13 men then, but that's a good excuse if it helps you cope.

I'm pleased with how quickly we have adjusted to Ange's style of play. Thought it might take longer than this but clearly by the start we have made it's here already.

Somehow again, just like Poch when he was appointed, I feel we have ended up with the right manager from all the guys we were linked to.

Maddison is a revelation, and Vicario, although still early days, looks like a job well done by the club in scouting him.

After listening to the crisis club Tottenham crap that we've had to endure for the last 12 months with pundits everywhere agreeing that we would be going backwards without Conte and Kane (I genuinely think some journalists thought they were both bigger than the club) isn't it fantastic to have made such a bright start.

Before the season began I really hoped that Ange and the boys would stuff the perennial Spurs bashers words back down their throats and although it's early days we are doing exactly that by playing entertaining stylish football and getting results.

It might not last but right now I'm loving it and judging by the brilliant footage of our away following at Burnley so are the fans.

Pawl, great start. Although I doubt you will hear a peep out of the media about it. Their flavour of the month seems to be Brighton, you know the club that were thumped at home by West Ham just last week.

Spanking is when you get beat 4-1?

Like when Kloppity go enraged and demanded LFC spent money and then got Allison and VDV....That 4-1 trashing Spurs gave LFC, at Wembley is moment in history for LFC. It changed how Klopp started to become a cheque book manager.

Now 4-1 is a thrashing --- thank us anytime

There is a fine line between optimism and delusion.

I'd stick to optimism. This is a transition year and if we made it into European places, then Ange has done remarkably well.

As per Paul Merson, the so called Arsenhole legend, we will not even make the top half this season so long may Angie ball success continue

Not that I am down with Sandy's perhaps unrealistic optimism but if Arsenal could mount a title charge last season when they finished outside the top 4 and nobody really saw it coming, then it's not out of the realms of possibility that Spurs could do the same. The first team is pretty strong, particularly the midfield and the new manager is making a big difference. The manager is the most importance piece in what makes a team great after all.

I'm fine with settling for us challenging for top 4 for now.
