The decline starts here, Sandy title articles are always the kiss of death

As if any side will get close to City and the human cheat code that is Haaland - that faaacker could score 50 this season in the league

Arsenal blew it last season, should have won it. If City can have a league season like last season then it could give another team a chance again. If it's one of those where they get well over 90 points then maybe not.

Arsenal were never going to go the distance last year. In their current iterations, City had way too much experience in title races and Arsenal way too little.

LOL punters like you were saying he was going to beat Dixie Dean's 60 last season. In the end he couldn't even best Bobby Sniths 36 for Spurs.

Decent striker yes, but he is basically a tap in merchant.

Pretty much the only thing City were lacking.

Btw, what was Dean's main skill, Sandy, 50-yard runs and top corner finishes?

All they had to do was not lose to City at home, beat West Ham when 2-0 up, and not draw with bottom team Southampton. Other games where they dropped avoidable points.

To say they were never going to go the distance is to give them an excuse for bottling it.

Title Charge!! Now that’s funny!! Comedy at its best!! As for beating Arsenal and Liverpool, the pessimist in me being a Spurs fan says no but I’ll offer my apologies now if I’m wrong!

What I'm saying is that it was perfectly normal for them to bottle it, as do the vast majority of squads with no real experience of winning things when they have a bunch of serial winners breathing down their necks.

I kind of get your point but they did win an FA Cup already under Arteta though and to be honest all winning teams had a point when they went from not winning to winning. City themselves had to overcome it when United were breathing down their necks.

It wasn't even a close contest in the end, that's how bad Arsenal choked. Might be the worst bottle job in PL history.

Still scored 60 goals in 38 games he played that season, something Haaland will never do.

100 per cent correct, they bottled it against City.

True, of course, yet for each one that does so there are many more who come up short, or only make it after they're battle-hardened after the odd near miss.

That's why goals like Agüero's changing of the guard moment or seasons like Atlético's when they won the title at the Camp Nou are the stuff of legend (and even then, they still bottled the CL final). They only actually come about every so often.

Classic Sandy article. Claiming Spurs will win the league after a few decent results, brown nosing Levy and banging on about Dixie Dean and Jimmy Greaves whenever someone praises a modern era striker.

And exactly who recruited Ange?

He got blamed for Jose and Conte, so a bit of credit due him for recruitment of Ange.

Levy.

It’s as predictable as it gets, the old khunt even managed shoe horn Dixie Dean into the faaacking conversation.

It’s a great start, why can’t we just leave it at that

Ange was at least 3rd choice wasn’t he? Behind Nagelsmaan and Arne Slot.

I don’t blame Levy for Conte - he had an opportunity to get a supposedly elite manager in his prime, and broke the bank to do it. It was a ballsy move that few thought he could pull off, and in the first half season it worked.

The catastrophe and meltdowns of the second season were all on Conte; he was backed, but he proved himself to be a fraud who needed off the peg top drawer players in every position, who couldn’t coach, promote youth, balance multiple competitions or play anything vaguely resembling decent football and ultimately who engineered his way out of the club blaming everyone but himself for his shortcomings. Guy is a clown.

I think it terms of the players it's a lack of quality more than experience. For Arteta it certainly comes down to inexperience though. A combination of the two to add up to a massive choke.

I reckon Ange wasn't even on Levy's radar. The man whose team we just tonked I reckon was though cause he probably thought about how Arsenal were doing under a young ex-player and wanted some of that too.

I don't exactly blame Levy if he didn't have Ange in his thoughts because he wasn't the most high profile of managers and was coming from a rubbish league. I thank whoever it was at Spurs who decided he'd be a good fit though.
