Eastbound and Down was utter genius. Especially season 4.
I don't watch tv shows anymore.
But Fawlty towers and Monty python are as good as it gets for me.
American sitcoms are brainless drivel imho.
Vicar of dibley and friends.

Oh, and People Just Do Nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think that's the one I meant. Instead of This Country. But I think both are the same? Are they the ones for brain dead idiots? I believe that they are quite popular because there are a lot of brain dead idiots? It is important that we have really bad TV shows that appeal to the idiotic majority. Same with politics. Really important. Bad is good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This Country is the brother and sister in the Cotswolds.
People Just Do Nothing is Kurupt FM.
Both are the bolllocks.
Both Partridge and Fawlty Towers are genius, although I have to say the second series of I'm Alan Partridge is overrated. The first series is much better. I also think Mid Morning Matters is superior to IAP 2 as well.
The Young Ones hasn't dated well at all based on when I last watched it. Very of its time with 80's bands performing halfway through and people like Alexi Sayle and Ben Elton who were never funny to begin with. Mayall and Edmundson in Bottom were much better.

Always watch Father Ted when I come across it channel surfing. Mental/fascinating what’s happened to Graham Linehan the past couple years. Wrote 3 genuinely great sitcoms and now is a hate filled loon. My friends went to see his stand up a few months back out of curiosity, said it was the worst comedy he’d ever seen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup, it crowd fantastic too. Best comedies for me are
OFAH
Peep show
Inbetweeners
Father Ted
It crowd.
Faulty towers and black adder also excellent. Red dwarf has some great moments, but also some that fall flat.

Bottom > Young Ones
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, although I thought Bottom turned rubbish by the third series.
Family Guy must be up there as one of the most overrated shows also. Pale imitation of Simpsons with cheap animation and jokes.
My top 5 All Time comedies would be:
Only Fools
The Office (UK)
BlackAdder
Peep Show
Fawlty Towers
Other comedies I rate - The Inbetweeners, Porridge, People Just do Nothing, Red Dwarf, Extras. Can’t beat a bit of Bottom for mindless violence and innuendo.
Mrs Browns Boys is crap, agreed. One popular comedy I’ve never got on on with is Father Ted.
Find it very hard to disagree that Fawlty Towers is rubbish. It’s hilarious - my favourite episode is with the American - the conflict of cultures is brilliantly portrayed and the gap was probably much bigger 50 years ago than it is now.
Young Ones all the way, yes it's dated but it's still incredible and really of it's time in a good way. Bottom is fun but it's far less interesting.
I think One Foot in the Grave is a little underated, huge at the time but you rarely hear about it these days. It's genuinly dark at times and hillarious at times. I saw One Foot in the Algarve again recently, it was great and probably one of Peter Cook's last ever apperances.

Wasn’t One Foot in the Grave filmed in Hengistbury Head?
One Foot in the Grave is definitely underrated. Other underrated comedies I enjoy are Game On (mid 90’s), and Dear John, written by John Sullivan pre Only Fools. As a kid I liked The Detectives with Jasper Carrot and Robert Powell too.
Game On was great, sadly until Ben Chaplin left.
I loved Red Dwarf a lot as a kid and never missed an episode but I rewatched it recently and while still decent enough just didn’t hit the same
Underrated - The Peter Serafinowitz Show and Time Trumpet

The writing of series 2 was great, but Stuka couldn’t pull off the character - would’ve been a great second series of Chaplin had stayed.
Miranda. Really, really, not funny.

I think a bunch of 90s BBC comedy was shot in or near Bournemouth for some reason?
One Foot in the Grave
Brittas Empire
Waiting for God
Brushstrokes
2point4 Children
Game One series 1 was great.
Bascially most things you watched on TV as a child/teenager is great.

Game On. Was genius. Both series. Both actors who played Matthew did it brilliantly in their own ways. Good question..... Which one was the best? I cant decide.

Yeah was a weird place for 90s sitcoms. Maybe just cheaper to film there? I remember Uncle Albert used to have a desk and chair in Christchurch every Saturday and sold stuff there.
