https://twitter.com/Manutdfan2022 - this was a bit of a sage. Four goodbye videos and an "I'm back" video.

*saga! Need to find the thyme to spell properly.

It's not overrated, out dated yes but still hilarious.

Sad to report a number of episodes have either been edited to death or will never be shown due to wokeness of current society, too many people easily offended by any old material.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont believe that young people today get offended by 1970s comedy scripts. Maybe shocked that it was ok to say such things on Tv then. Unless we are correct that todays younger generation are as suspected a bunch of Karens.

I cant even imagine being offended by my parents generation's youth culture.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't get offended by it all all really. I just laugh at how people could get away with saying those things. It was of its time though. That's all. Seeing it on mainstream TV probably drove a change as well.

You could be right, it may be the minority of wokes who have hijacked the " I ake offense nonsense" and changed the narrative to represent all young people. Although it does appear it is socially acceptable to be highly woke these days.

Some scenes are more cringe than funny. It was sign of the times. Art, both visual and in literature form, should be appreciated, unredacted, for the period of time it represents. It's a capture of cultural history that should be appraised, critiqued but not cancelled.

I saw Knowing Me Knowing You and that wasn't nearly as funny as I remembered.

Probably my favourite of all his stuff, Patrick Marber is fantastic with his characters
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Partridge is at his best as a character as someone who has already had his best years and career behind him and is now a faded TV star turned disc jockey. His two best shows are IAP series 1 and MMM. Both are peak AP.

Love Brass Eye but again would never get commissioned now.

No edgy comedy is allowed anymore.

Always thought Vicar of Dibley was 5hite and Fools and Horses got too predictable. Nowadays we're lumbered with barrel scraping tripe like Mrs Browns Boys while top notch writing , acting and directing gems like Detectorists never gets a mention.

Vicar of Dibley is like comedy for old ladies, like Keeping Up Appearances and Last of the Summer Wine before it. If I was to ever watch an episode I'd have to cleanse my eyes straight after with very dark humour.

Fawlty Towers was of it's time...racist mysogynist etc etc

It had some brilliant bits...but what it did was go out at the top on 12 episodes

Father Ted is one of the most brilliant comedies of all time as was Porridge

Most unfunny thing ever...Mrs Browns Boys...& it's STILL FACKIN ON

SERIOUSLY....
