Was never a fan either, pseudo intellectual style just always made him look a t!t and now he's a conspiracist t!t.
My old flatmate had a incident with him, not remotely surprised at the allegations.
Me and the wife have been watching him live a few times and always enjoyed it. He's a naturally charismatic fellow and made us and the other 2000 people laugh.
The accusations are awful though and several comedians on the circuit have been eluding to a famous comedian predator for quite a while. There seems to be too much smoke here for it to be made up. He's finished.
Used to think he was brilliant in his stand up.
But just turned into a raving lunatic these days
I’ve never found the guy funny, I don’t get how he got to where he is. And now he’s turned into an alt right nut job like most of the cretins you see on the internet these days, regurgitating crappy conspiracy theories.
I went to his show once and left at the interval.
He must have had something going for him to get where hi is, but he always came across as smug to me.
He’s a massive character with a huge ego and very performative. I can see why he was popular but just never my thing.
Never found him funny. Think he is a condescending priัk, and cant stand his accent either. I feel sorry for the women he abused, and I hope this will be the end of him. Unfortunately a whole bunch of people showed support for him and standing ovation after the allegations.
Russell Brand when he sees the likes of Andrew Tate, Tommy Robinson etc defending him - https://streamable.com/6lz45d
Problem is he has a huge fan base who will support him no matter what and I can’t see any charges being made sadly.
Used to find him slightly amusing on occasion, but that tended to be more laughing at him than with him.
He’s one of those that for a long period of time, very stupid people (and himself) thought of of being a lot cleverer than they actually are.
His voice is/was annoying enough for me to not watch him longer than a few mins each time.
Not a fan, never found him funny to be honest. I thought it was well known that he was a bit of a seex pest, I think there's a reason he's doing stuff on YouTube nowadays.

This, comes across as a condescending know it all and not remotely funny.
NO comment to make of the allegations atm as I know nothing about them but LOVED when bob Geldof called him a C^nt at an awards ceremony a few years back
I always found him a very funny, humble, trustworthy, non-manipulative, un-creepy, intelligent and non-smug individual who I cannot see doing any of these things he has been accused of.
He is very well spoken and comes across quicker and smarter than many of his followers and points fingers at issues that are partly true but doesn’t ever offer any solutions. There is big money to be made in being a populist and he’s probably addicted to the levels of adulation he’s gained during Covid alongside people like Nurse Campbell and Andrew Tate.
The world is going to go into quite a scary and serious situation as the effects of climate change and recession hit and people who understand the allure of a cult of personality will clean up financially as they can appeal to people suffering and try to convince them they’re not alone and all that needs to happen is a revolution.
And that’s not necessarily wrong - but people like Brand have no interest in an actual revolution as they themselves would lose the nest eggs they’ve built up from those millions of views on YouTube and puts him in a mansion and nice car etc
He's obviously talented and charismatic. My first impression was that he was extremely vain. Then came the Andrew Sachs voicemail incident, which revealed he could be a mean-spirited jerk. I was therefore quite mistrustful of him when he started supporting political / social justice issues that I was sympathetic to. And it didn't seem at all surprising when he gravitated toward a conspiratorial worldview in the space where far left and far right realise they hate moderate discourse more than each other and, more importantly, can monetise a larger audience if they become agnostic about the erstwhile fundamental distinctions between hard left and hard right.
We can't comment on the veracity of individual allegations, but it strikes me that the investigative journalism has been rigorous.
Never found him even remotely funny. Hated him in anything he’s been. Never understood his popularity.

I was actually a fan of his when he did the Trews back in the day. He was actually speaking sense and pointing fingers at very real issues. I don’t think he ever got over supporting Ed Milliband and his ego took him to these ‘heights’ in the grifter world.

Appropriately enough #metoo is a kind of revolution just maybe not the kind he was hoping for?
He stayed a hotel I was working at whilst he did some sets in Cairns. Made him a couple of cocktails, he was with a lady, seemed a pretty nice bloke on the face of it, tipped me about $40 which was amazing for me at the time.
