I think you’ll find most freekick takers miss quite a few. Pretty sure Beckham has one of the best conversion rates in the history of the sport.
Exellent player and as you said part of the best 4 man midfield the PL has seen.
Contrary to what others think I agree he may have been an underrated player for United, due to the circumstances in which he left, which the same could be said for Giggs and Keane also, both underrated for me. Scholes being the only one slightly overrated, with the other three being better players than he was, although that only came after he retired.
Gary Neville made him look a better RW than he actually was at United and England

As opposed to Kane who has possibly the worst in Europe.

Yeah Ferguson made the right call and like I said Beckham chose the showbiz path and knew Ferguson wouldn’t be happy. From what I’ve heard Beckham and Posh aren’t really a couple these days, it’s all for the brand. He’s definitely having fun without her.

A work colleague of mine used to live in London and knew Robert Pattison the actor. One night they were out and Sienna Miller was in their crowd. Apparently all night she was receiving messages from a certain high-profile footballer pestering here for a bit of the other...
His crossing while running down the wing at speed was the best in world, still the best I've seen.
Work rate and general passing ability were excellent too.
Yeah I know a TV/fashion celeb who had a bit of fun with him in a restaurant toilet while he had a cast on his leg.

Austin Powers = Liz Hurley
It was Liz Hurley right?
Not quite, maybe ask your Amazon computer voice 😉

I'd say it was the other way around. He gave a lot of help to Neville and cut inside a lot, which allowed Neville to get into crossing positions.
It's no coincidence that mistakes crept into Neville's game after Beckham left as he wasn't offered the same protection and wasn't on the same wavelength as those who came after, Solskjaer filling in and a young Ronaldo after that.

Beckham was great and I put him above Ronaldo in our pantheon of great United players.
He was absolutely brilliant circa 1996-2000, and often thereafter. I wouldn't want to say he regressed
He was absolutely brilliant circa 1996-2000, and often thereafter. I wouldn't want to say he regressed but he became a bit more one-dimensional from 2000ish onwards.
One of the greatest United players of my lifetime, no doubt about it.

Why do these Scousers persist with this nonsense about Scholes only being rated after he retired? I must have imagined Hansen and Lawro singling him our for praise week after wekk on MOTD.
Such a weak wum.
Arguably the best crosser of a ball and best free kick taker the premier league has seen. Was also a great long and short range passer.
Started watching the documentary but have yet to have seen any footage that I haven't already done so.
I still have not seen a better crosser of the ball or a better free kick taker in the PL than David Beckham.
His career at Man United was full of highlights and memorable moments.
His goal against Arsenal in that FA Cup semi in 1999 of course always gets overshadowed by Giggs' wonder goal but it was a typical David Beckham special.
He was obviously great from 96-00 but imo he was even better after that for us as he was immense in the Ruud days.

TOOR just can’t cope with the fact some people rate him higher than his beloved Gerrard, sends him doolally
A few years ago I went on a United dvd and Blu-ray buying rampage. Now I own every single one and it’s so bizarre watching the time capsule of life wrapped up with each game as somehow I recall everything I was doing in life as the seasons unfolded.

Stunning goal. It was like a free-kick in open play, giving Seaman no time to prepare.
He hit some incredible goals. A deft lob while on the run in the 3-5 win at Upton Park in 2001-02 often gets forgotten but it was a thing of beauty.
I love the volley against Chelsea in 1998

Massively overrated, particularly for England.
Spaffed 15 freekicks into the wall/crowd for every one he actually got on target. See England vs Greece.

The last time I heard, Beckham had the 4th best freekick conversion rate in PL history. That was a few years ago though, so could be be a couple more above him now. Ward- Prowse definately and possibly Trent?
