That was pathetic- 60 secs to take a kick

I don't know what hold Farrell has over successive coaches, but it doesn't manifest itself on the pitch. Pathetic.

Dont want to offend anyone, but must say I was very disappointed by PWs post match interview.
Rather than follow on from Tues game, where we scored 3 decent goals, created in the main through the midfield, he decided to bypass it today, in response to Chelt playing 3 at the back. We were programmed to either attack down the wings, as we have the '2 fastest wingers in the league' or lump it up front and rely on the front 2 to pick up the remnants. Cheltenham were fighting for their new manager and we needed a little more than this approach to break them down. The first half was wasted and we were much improved when Bird came on, showing that we needed to play with more guile & intelligence throughout.
He was grouchy when questioned about it & sounded deluded when he said 'sometimes you have days like that'.
I believe a similar thing may have happened after our good win against Pboro.
Personally I find it quite concerning.

I had to miss the last ten minutes to get to a funeral but I guess I missed little in the way of excitement!

The camera angle was too low for me and the camera work in general was poor so that may have made the pattern of play difficult to spot. On the other hand I suspect that a decent camera angle etc would still have shown that this was a very poor display. How can we be so good against one of the better teams but so poor against the worst?

I'm usually able to say that all played well but that so and so was superb. Not today. I think that only Nelson, Nyambe and Barks were anywhere near reasonable. We clearly missed Bird as he made all the difference when he came on and the sooner he is fully fit the better. Fornah, who had been so good before this game, made a horrible misjudgement for their goal. Trying to dribble across your own penalty area is a recipe for disaster.

Let's hope this was a one-off. But why was the football so aimless in the first half?

England are poor - they’ve had an ‘easy’ group to get out of, boring kicking game to boot and a fly half who cannot count backwards from 60

Exactly.

England should (or at least are theoretically capable) of beating Fiji. Then the semi's, and anything can happen. Funny old game!...........

AND a friendly TMO - overturning an on-field decision AFTER the conversion when it is open play
