For me “footballing Keepers” are a luxury! I’d much rather have keeper that does what he’s meant to do and stop the ball going in the net.
To much emphasis is put on keepers to be good with their feet, the reason why they end up in goal is probably because they weren’t good enough with their feet to be an outfield player!

How often do teams really benefit? More often than not, it seems to result in a lot of passes around the back until the press catches up, and someone hoofs it or loses posession.

It's been quite horrific for the Palestinians this year (a Palestinian was killed in the West Bank by Settlers who were on a rampage before this offensive). Pogroms, Settler terroism with the impunity and backing of the Israeli state. We knew that there was going to be a response, it was just surprising at the level of response and the unpreparedness of Israel.
On the keepers, I'd say this isn't going to change. There have always been ball playing keepers but they've never been as integral to the team as they are on the modern game. The best keepers would have the best attributes of both types of keepers so I don't think this is going to stop any time soon.

You don't have to be the best to play that way. Brentford had Raya. If he wasn't able to play that way, he would not have ended up at Arsenal. They have to develop somewhere before the best clubs pintch them (if they don't come through the ranks of said clubs).

It's been quite horrific for the Palestinians this year (a Palestinian was killed in the West Bank by Settlers who were on a rampage before this offensive). Pogroms, Settler terroism with the impunity and backing of the Israeli state. We knew that there was going to be a response, it was just surprising at the level of response and the unpreparedness of Israel.
On the keepers, I'd say this isn't going to change. There have always been ball playing keepers but they've never been as integral to the team as they are on the modern game. The best keepers would have the best attributes of both types of keepers so I don't think this is going to stop any time soon.

Not suggesting it will dissappear, more so that its implemented less where the clubs where all but the best play.

You don't have to be the best to play that way. Brentford had Raya. If he wasn't able to play that way, he would not have ended up at Arsenal. They have to develop somewhere before the best clubs pintch them (if they don't come through the ranks of said clubs).
