We don't want this sort of comment, praising a player. Ang out.
Just giving myself leeway for a good moan after the next game
So its a player breaks out of a jog and scores shock.......
Yes, especially from midfield
I once made the mistake of going to the local radio station for its weekly "folk stage" concert (not really my thing) but they had a guest artist there who wrote her own songs, some quite funny. You'll have to make up your own tune but here's one stanza Mrs C and I adapt and occasionally sing to one another:
"I was right and you were wrong
and I'm singing all night long;
'you should never again
question my judgement'.
Those long winter nights must fly by, Chicago.
Maybe it's better with the tune.
Not a lot rhymes with 'judgement'

Dear god no, the lyrics are bad enough!
What a load of plebs you are!
On a lighter note A Certain Mr Russell scored for Sporting Kansas yesterday, the lad is still going strong.
Interesting, no reports on here of Mr Rooney taking over as manager of Brum
Mentioned on the Cheltenham thread Ang.
Id mentally disposed of that one
Anyway, confirmed now.
'Rooney will be supported by his former England team-mate and current England Under-21 assistant Ashley Cole and his old United colleague John O'Shea.'
Not that Im particularly following his career....

To sack Eustace after all his hard work at that dead end club, when they were 6th in the Championship, is crazy. I can remember when 'arry was made manager, not to mention Zola.
Having said that, I hope Rooney does well, I liked him as manager for us and if the worst was to happen...Eustace would be a good choice.

Original was by Rainbow I believe?............
Just watched highlights of Man U under 18s v our U 18s and while we lost 3-1 we caused them no end of problems with some really good football and could easily have come away with a draw. We look to have some good lads there although I would hesitate to single anyone out at this stage. Man U have now won all their games but their TV commentators said this was the hardest they have faced agin "a very good Derby side."

The band or the TV show?
I know it's been mentioned here and on a previous thread too. My concerns with Rooney's appointment are starting to (possibly) materialise and that is players he's familiar with and would like to work again with. Add to that Derby's situation and Rooney looking to get them on the cheap.
Cashin's name has started to be mentioned I've noticed with Birmingham..... Wayne Rooney's Birmingham City. No doubt Rooney would have a keen interest in Max Bird too having played alongside him and familiar with his strengths.
Personally I'm incredibly eager to read that Cashin, Bird and Sibley have all extended their contracts to ensure we can get a better return for the time and effort put in to developing these kids. To lose yet more players from the Academy on the cheap would be an absolute travesty. Had the players we'd developed in recent years gone for their true value we'd be in a more competitive position whilst in L1.
There's little doubt, Cashin will look to move on and Brighton would be his preferred club. The PL club would also be considering why pay x millions for a kid that could be available for next to nothing come Jan.
Our selling transfer strategy is the absolute worst, like amateurs with pants down to our ankles.
Equally disappointing is seeing players like George Nunn come from a PL Academy and be sent on loan to the national league and not make an impact. I'd have like to see some of these recruits drop down
a division and have a reasonably decent spell and look to be be bedded into the first team squad.
(Excuse my moan, I'm frustrated certain aspects of our club are showing no signs of change or improvement when it comes to youth )
Chicago thanks for the update regarding the Academy and I look forward to JA606's own U21 Academy scout Ang providing an in-depth breakdown and analysis.
You are welcome Desi!
I agree with you about the Academy and contracts generally. We should be looking to extend for Cash, Bird and Sibley (others too, I've no doubt) but I just wonder if their respective agents may advise against it if any are looking to move, eg Cash. I would also hope Nyambe will be offered more and pronto but I suspect he will be hoping a Champ club will come for him in January. Still, we should try.
I cant really help much these days Desi.
Lots of 'new' names in the early stages of their careers and little coverage other than the highlights clips.
Several called up for international duty recently though, so there is some talent around.
Ripe for the picking, you might say
PS.
I believe Omari Kellyman's younger bro has left the club as well.
Just been reading a review of Andy Hamilton's "Blue was the Colour". Basically why, after a lifetime as a Chelsea fan, he has surrendered his season ticket.
You all know the reasons (global investment etc. etc.), but I am quite happy to be snug where we are now, or thereabouts.............đ
