For older readers - Bryan Robson.

Good shout, although I think some of his injuries also made him the hero he was tonso many.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way he played certainly did endear him to us all. It possibly led to some injuries too I suppose. It would have been great to have him available every game. I'm sure we'd have won the league in 85/86 had he not got injured.
Best if we could have.takenaway his need for booze.
McGrath was also very good despite no knees

We have a winner. ✅
Hargreaves another one for UTD... I feel like he could have been just what we needed at the time and showed glimpses of real quality.
Sometimes it felt like we were a one-man team with Robbo - he made such a difference to us when he was in the side. I also remember he was the only player who came back with any credit from the Euros in 1988 when England lost all 3 games.
Also sad that big Norm's career ended so early. Played in the world cup aged 17, scored in the 83 FA cup final, and before Giggs goal, prob our greatest FA Cup goal in 85 against Everton.

I remember going to a game at OT where we beat Wolves 2-1 with a last minute winner. We had an injury crisis and Hargreaves hadn’t played for months but was in the starting line up. Me and my dad had a bet on if he would make half time and he did his hamstring after 4 minutes and was replaced by Bebe, who then hit his first cross out for a throw in on the other side
Another Hargreaves story. I had knee surgery about 10 years ago and the guy who did it was the orthopaedic surgeon often used by United (he had signed G Nev and Welbeck pictures in his office). Originally, they thought I had bad tendinitis and I said ‘what like Hargreaves’ and the surgeon said ‘if United hadn’t rushed him back the first time he’d have been fine’.
Has to be R9, what a player
Bebe, who then hit his first cross out for a throw in on the other side
----------
I'd be more concerned if his cross went out for a throw on the same side.
R9 or Van Basten are great shouts. Both simply outstanding, would have been so interesting to see their careers injury free.
Like the idea of Bryan Robson being injury free. He was so good that surely he would have driven Utd to competing for titles and cups, Big Ron keeps his job and Fergie never goes to Utd....
From Liverpool's perspective, would have been interesting to see Michael Owen without injury. Would also have been interesting to have seen an injury free Jamie Redknapp.
If I could pick one, R9.
Imagine an injury free Jack Wilshere.
Would have the best CM in the world imo.

If i understand the question correctly (past and present?) - R9, easy.
Scarily good, and I don't even think we ever saw him at his full potential.

End of thread
As already mentioned, Ronaldo is the obvious one.
On a personal level, I loved watching Diaby when he was available so I'd love to see how good he could have been.
Ledley King would be another interesting one, if he could actually train and play regularly how much better could he have become?

Would never have stayed at Tottenham if he actually had knees ….would have been at Madrid , Barca etc ….easily better than Campbell who we couldn’t keep
Bloke was a class footballer ….to not even train and still put in the performances he did
Paul McGrath had similar issues I think but could be wrong
Van Basten or R9 would be the answer for me though

Woodgate too.
Michael Bridges and Seth Johnson are others
Not so much injury related but the MSM trying to bring Greenwood down for going against the narrative has got to be up there. Could have been such a good player if he hadn't done so much research into the truth.
