If the Derby faithful start to vote with their feet or whatever part of their anatomy is relevant then there will be a change of heart in the boardroom. All PW has to do to save his job is have a winning team.

At the moment it is feeling more like a chore than anything else. I can't see myself wavering but I wouldn't criticise anyone who didn't fancy it at the moment. My Crewe tickets arrived today which is another match to feel trepidation about.

But, as BC said, 3 points shuts everyone up, at least temporarily. So let's hope for that.

Being quite old and now largely landscape, I dislike change. But we need to keep debating and let's face it we have no room for blind acceptance and complacency. To misquote Airplane "they knew the risks let 'em crash"...............🛩️

Crewe is a 30 minute £9 return train ride from here, but I can't get any enthusiasm to go (it being moved to Sunday doesn't help). 😢

Beeb report worth a read. Basically, we have the oldest squad in the league; we are not the team we were/think we are; and need to plan accordingly. January beckons then upwards and onwards...........🙂

Oldest with an average of 27 🤷🏼

If we have an older squad then you would think it might make more sense to use that experience, technique and know-how by playing the ball on the ground a bit rather than playing kick'n'chase.

Life is rather demotivating at present.

Looks like we're just lacking three midfielders that can run about a bit then.

Let's hope these board members are very skilful at diplomacy and mentorship.

Do the players have the technique? Cocu wanted us to play the ball out of defence. All that happened was that at some point we lost the ball. PW seems to be of the opposite belief. It’s all very depressing.
Does anyone trust PW’s judgement on players?

I don't think it's an either/or. But I wish we would try to play the ball to feet where it is reasonably safe to do so, and play the ball longer when in doubt. At the moment we often see the long diagonal ball even when there is no pressure on the player who has the ball. At Shrewsbury I saw Cashin lumping it 50 yards towards Sibley's head on the right wing. I'm no tactical expert but that doesn't seem like a winner's strategy to me.

With a bit of luck one of them may be a DoF, 2W

If it helps at all, consider the lovely Woodcock, arriving now on the October full moon. Stags roaring, so there will be no sleep for anyone, this night!

So, we just might have another season consolidating and regrouping in L1. We can live with that. And all the wintry goodness to look forward to. All will be well. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lucky you Heb, I would love to see a woodcock. Lots of owls around New Vidal Towers, though I have yet to determine the depth of their wisdom. I went out for a run earlier wearing a head torch, something I have never done before, but I felt I mastered the process, pretty much, apart from missing a turning that added a few minutes.

Heb I don't want another year in Div 1 cuz the football is krap and boring. I used to enjoy coming to games, now it feels like a duty.

If Hamas gave up their arms there would be peace. If Israel gave up their arms they would all be killed.

If Israel stopped taking land that wasn't theirs it might help?

I think it's sensible to keep politics out of these threads as the issue is incredibly sensitive.

This is a Propaganda War ( on both sides ) I'd like to use this thread as a means of escapism from the devastating images seen.

Hope that's good with all.

Taking land is not taking lives, Palestine is a terrorist run country, with hamas and hezbollah.
Israel never attacks, but has a right to Retaliate.
When children are murdered in their mother's arms along with their mother, Hundreds of hostages taken .some murdered, I firmly believe that what has happened there will happen in britain at some time in the future.

Further to my Previous point, all labour supporters bear in mind at every labour conference under Jeremy corbin
and Starmer, These terrorists were allowed to put palestinian flags on every seat at The Labour Party conference for yeais. Even now, some labour mps have been suspended for making anti-semitic comments. The whole party stinks.
