I suppose you can only beat what is front of you. I thought Northampton were hopeless in every department. We played very well but were met with no resistance at all. As Spart says, we have struggled against teams that have only a little more about them than our opponents on the last two Tuesdays. Maybe if we can put together two or three wins the confidence will then come to continue to play this sort of football on a regular basis. If so we will all be happy.
Interesting to see Hourihane playing the anchor role and both Bird and Smith playing ahead of the ball and making runs into the box. It certainly makes us look a lot more threatening. I thought Washington had a very good game, busy and tidy in his play. He took his goal well when they all stood aside and waved him through.
Bradley had nothing to do but he did it very well. He can’t have wished for a better game to get back into the swing of things. During a break in play in the second half he strode over to the touchline in front of me, picked up a bottle of water, emptied it onto the grass and then scrunched it to oblivion in his fist before dropping it over the advertising hoarding. I don’t know what it had done to offend him.
Last Tuesday I asked for more of the same please but we were back to the turgid stuff on Saturday. I’ll make the same plea again.

Apparently we played an ineligible player and looks like we will be docked points...

Who? If so Warne should be punished in some way. Hard enough to gain points, losing them on breaking the rules is a cardinal sin.
I don't believe that comment was a serious one, Spart.
I wouldn’t mind, he had enough time to think about it.
Reading match postponed due to International call ups
Another article about Ang's 'brother', Kellyman. Depressive to see these articles and think what type of squad Derby should be fielding if we had a sensible financial approach and nurtured the youth into the first team as a long term plan.
Fat Frank's excessive spend followed up by the Hollywood appointment of Cocu just escalated our financial situation. If we'd hung on another season we could well have been selling these players are premium prices.
But coulda, woulda, shoula....
Fat Frank linked to Bristol City. Interesting if he joins only to be found out very quickly.
Gotta feel for the Sri Lankans in the cricket. 55 all out.

You're thinking of Lampard & Rooney
Sorry, you covered Lampard.
Must read your posts more thoroughly, Desi
Hope you are all coping with the storm. Which is missing us again!
Been ok, thanks Heb. Far enough inland to have avoided the worst of the winds and less rain than the one that began with B.
Not looking forward to Dierdre

Good to see Forest are heading for financial meltdown. They have been forced to take out a 30 million loan to cover current costs of wages etc. The loan is secured against the payments that Spurs are due to make for Brennan Johnson over thye next 2-3 years. Instead of Forest gettimg that money it now goes to the bank instead. The fan is whirring. Brown and smelly incoming......

I bought a Ford Sierra 2.3 Ghia from Bristol Street Motors. I kept it for 18 years, it was a brilliant car. A bit thirsty compared to my current car though, I once ran out of petrol on an Autoroute near Aix. I got a good telling off from my wife!
Happy Days
