I called it in the summer but Havertz is peak Arsenal - arty farty schitt player that flatters to deceive, doesn’t effect the game.
Between him and Raya, Arteta has pizzed £100m up the wall this summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arteta has not helped Havertz by playing him in a ridiculous position give him a chance through the middle and see what happens. I don't think it was a good buy but Arteta has not helped Havertz at all. Raya hasn't cost anything in terms of a fee he's on loan so we can send him back if we want at the end of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that not a bigger worry for you, your manager has spent £65m on player but either does not know his best position or refuses to play him there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a massive worry at the moment because Havertz is so bad in the position they will have to either look for an alternative in January or the summer. I'd be more worried if he was playing a little bit better then Arteta could say well he's ok and will get better. I'd rather he stinks the place out now and there's no way Arteta can deny he needs replacing. Or at least given a go in position where he's given a fair chance to offer something
Arteta & co blew our season in the Summer. It was crucial we nailed the transfer window with Champions League pressures this time on top of trying to mount another title challenge. For that to happen we needed to again raise the level of the squad and we have failed to do that, if anything we've slipped backwards.
We wasted big money on Havehurts and fiddled around bring Raya in on loan when he's not even an upgrade upsetting the better goalkeeper and possibly the squad too in the process. Also we didn't even spend enough if you factor in the additional CL revenue and outgoings.

How does 65+3 = 100???
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently we may have to buy him, depending on appearances.

By playing him constantly, Arteta is going this way.
Yeah, unbeaten in the league and could qualify in the 4th CL game. Season BLOWN!!

The claim was we spent £100m on Havertz and Raya last summer - not the future
Ivan Toney in Jan seems like a no brainer, can’t rely on Jesus, blokes always injured. Trossard doesn’t score enough and Havertz is faaacking pony

Right. But I wasn't aware of this clause.
65 million down the drain
Kai Havertz has done fack all again.
Eddie was in his real light.
Sheff Utd made him look world class
Seen quite a few people criticising Ramsdale’s performance last night, i think thats a bit unfair the first goal was a foul , the second he was unsighted and the third was deflected. Yes he didn't look as assured as he usually does but thats down to Arteta who has needlessly destroyed his confidence by bringing in Raya.

I think some of us can see the writing on the wall to allow us to make that prediction.
1) We lost Xhaka after molding him into that LCM role and did not replace him
2) Arteta brought in Havertz as a vanity project and spent a whopping 65m on him. Willian Mark II.
3) Arteta chose to destabilize the GK position by bringing in a player who looked good for Brentford but has looked shakiy in more games than not for Arsenal. We tend to forget at times that some players just cannot make the step up from mid table to top 4 level. Raya looks to be one of those and now Ramsdale looks shot of confidence. It's a matter of time before we suddenly look like we have 2 shaky keepers. This was not necessary and I doubt any Arsenal fan in the summer saw the GK position as one that needed upgrading.
4) Our style of play has changed for the worse. We are so sloooooow and ponderous and chances against any decent team are few and far between. Why is this? Arteta claims control but we still concede a fair few goals and don't score nearly as many.
5) Arteta is living off the FA cup win. He has been backed to the hilt and these are all his players. Yet all he has achieved is a great run to second place last year. He has thrown every cup game since that 2020 FA cup final and that is not acceptable.
I think we finish 2nd or 3rd this year with zero trophies. That IS a season blown however you look at it.
Last season gave Arteta far, far more credit than the FA Cup win.
No-one really puts much stock on domestic cups. If we finish 2nd and get close to City and have a good run to at least the quarters in the CL it will be seen as another step forward.
I think this game shows us that we are utterly dependent on Saliba defensively, as Kiwior, decent squad player though he is, just doesn't compliment Gabriel in the same way. Zinchenko has gone from being someone I enjoyed having on the team to a defensive liability, and both Jorginho and Havertz are busts which, at the cost we incurred (for Havertz anyway), must have left Chelsea rubbing their hands together. As with Silvestre and Luiz we bought castoffs from direct rivals and it is coming back to bite is. If Ramsdale goes to Chelsea, which the rags would have you believe, it will be the ultimate smack in the mouth.
