Don't know if you have been following this one at all. Poppy seller in Edinburgh Waverley claimed to have been attacked by protesters in the station. Big storm created in the RDD community. Wasn't smart enough to work out that there is CCTV everywhere. So he made it up and isn't an army veteren. Just a biker wearing a para trooper hat.

Ah. I don’t use twitter so I don’t think I can read the comments. Police confirmation is certainly good enough for me.
What a prck in that case. Was he selling poppies and assaulted but lied about being a veteran or did he lie about the whole thing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as I know, my missus's sister who works at the station said the whole accusation was a lie, he wasn't assaulted, wasn't ex military and moved because he didn't like the crowd in the station being too many, she only heard it from her supervisor so cannot comment on it's validity other than what she was told
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks.

I love that fact that RDD, who is subnormal, has somehow come to the conclusion that he is able to gauge public opinion.

How about a wager?
We agree upon 3 media outlets, and use them to gauge the feelings towards the government / protesters / police come.Monday morning.
If across the 3 outlets, the general feeling is critical of the protesters / supportive of the police / governess behaviour / stance, you change your name until May.

Because its a link to Sky news.
I'd have thought you'd be keeping your head Fownhope after being embarrassed for the umpteenth time. You were sputting feathers about that poppy seller the other day
Love it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It contains a yougov poll about exactly what you two are arguing about. Not surprised you don’t want to look at it as it demonstrates that you are wrong and the other chap is correct.
As for the fake veteran, so what? That proves nothing. He’s been shown to be a liar and I’ve rightly called him a prck since.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just for bantz, what, specifically does it prove me wrong about. I'll wait.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Weren’t you two talking about public opinion on the protests?

Why don’t you two look at this
https://news.sky.com/story/israel-gaza-war-half-of-britons-think-pro-palestinian-marches-should-be-banned-on-armistice-day-poll-finds-13003438
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2,080 people against the marches
Could that be considered a far sample in a country of over 60m people?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it’s very normal. Yougov are a major, major company.

Well, well, well...
"Organiser of Armistice Day Cenotaph event backs pro-Palestine march"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hughes acknowledged that the pro-Palestine march would be an additional drain on police resources and views would vary among the membership of the Western Front Association
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I suppose it will be a drain but that's no different to any other big event/demonstration etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And views vary across the membership.

Nothing. 50% is actually less than I would have thought. Some progress has definitely been made over the last decade or two.
