Prime Rooney all day every day
Rooney. I don't think it's that close either. His attitude alone would be refreshing I think.
What kind of a question is that?
There’s nothing to debate about. You put RvP in a debate with Torres, or someone like that.
Prime Rooney is clear. Not even close.
RVN is just the killer you need
Whilst we do need a killer instinct / goal scorer. You cannot choose anything other than a prime Rooney.
What did you choose Juan Matador?

Not if you can't get the ball to him
In an ideal world I'd happily take both of them ! They would both carry us to a title win I reckon

Indeed Greg. Prime RVN would not be much use with our midfield and other forwards.
I wonder what Barry will say on this matter?
Depends what we are looking for. RVN scored 20+ PL goals in all 4 of his full seasons with us (1 season injured).
Rooney only scored 20+ PL goals in 2 of 13 seasons with us.
So if it is goals you are looking for then defo RVN, but if it is more important things that actually win you trophies like tracking back and playing left back then definitely Rooney.

Exactly. Their comments are 1 minute apart. And he just conveniently asks what Barry might say then there is a comment right there after. If I were him I'd leave like 5 minutes before posting the comment so it at least looks like so called Barry has come across this comment and then taken a few minutes to write a response after.
I am not really sure about the way people are talking about RVN like Rooney was levels above him. The guy would've broken all scoring records for us and I doubt anyone would get close in our lifetime if he stayed with us for just 5 more years.
Due to lack of opportunities we create, I would pick Rooney for that reason, not because he is clear of RVN

Work rate, goal return, favourable injury record, ability to play other positions.

What about Barry in wales? Is that full of English hating gay football fans?
Can someone on SE85s Ragnick and Mitchell thread explain that Ragnick insisted on a 3 year deal in order to leave the job he was already in, hence the 1 year interim and 2 years 'consultancy, hhich he backed out of when offered the Austria job.

I'm not sure it's so clear cut. Last season the lack of a box striker seemed hugely significant: not just for the goals, but in terms of the structure he gives to the team. That player obviously needs the midfield to create, but he also helps the midfield if his movement is good, because he prevents the defence and midfield from forming such a compact structure. So, for example, I think you'd get more out of Bruno if you had Ruud in this team than you would with Rooney.
Either of them would massively improve us though.
