Think it's certainly worth trying PR rather than FPTP. For so many voters their vote means literally nothing with many constituencies being a sure thing for one party or another.
Yes you might well get some unsavoury fringe types ending up in parliament but isn't that what democracy is supposed to be? Representative of the people.
It's a flawed system regardless, with money and media influence distorting reality and often convincing those more easily conned into voting against their own interests. Under FPTP though, it really offers so little in terms of genuine voter representation, half the time people essentially vote because they don't want the "other" party in. Rather than supporting the policies of the party they're actually voting for.
The standard of politics and politicians in the UK is at an all time low, the system isn't working and is only getting worse, lot's of things need to change including the honor's and lords system along with the abuses of lobbying post (or during!) servings terms.

Yes without doubt. The current government has little bit extremists left remaining after the multitude of feck ups and revamps.

The UKIP lot apparently infiltrated the Tories. Problem ith a two party system (essentially that's what we are for most parts).
