Now Rangers are insisting that Collum never sign referees any of their matches. (Allegedly)

Imagine trying to select officials based on them having a different opinion to you because they interpreted something a different way and in which case would never have mattered.

How utterly embarrassing

Tbf I think there's plenty of Celtic fans would rather Collum never referee one of their games again either. Pash ref who makes it about himself "making the big decisions" all too often.

I don’t doubt that but we can’t go around dictating what refs we want and don’t want for goodness sake

Got to pash with the cauk you have though.

"overriding consensus" wtf even is that? Apparently the SFA disagree with that interpretation? Doubt they will continue with statement tennis, however?

That said I think all fans will be happy to go down the transparency route. The SFA won't, however.

To be honest I dont think it was a pen anyway.

His hand was by his side and not in an unnatural position.

This idea that if the ball touches your hand its a pen needs to change.

I enjoyed the comment that rangers were ‘going for the juggler’.

As if stiffing the face painter wasn’t enough…

they have hit peak crackpot this week btw.

collum is a horrific ref, he always has been, he's given terrible decisions for every team, including a penalty he heard and allowing goldson to play in goals while on VAR.

rangers fans seem to want the penalty to have been given which is fine, but they are ignoring that the resulting penalty would have been wrong given sima was offside.

they want that not to count, unlucky, it does.

see a former ref say that "“Offside is irrelevant. VAR can only check for an offside if there is a consequence -ie a goal. There wasn’t. "

“Willie Collum is there to check whether there was a hand ball or not.

“The telling situation is that the game was restarted with a goal kick – not an indirect free kick, which would have been the case if the offside was awarded.”

dont know if thats correct or not?

Afraid it isn't.

Once penalty awarded they then check the APP.

And offside would have been given.

Rangers crying about the correct decision being made is pretty stupid to be honest but they wont be told.

where are you sourcing this .... is this from a place of info, another qualified or respected person in the field or is it from the mind of Timmy?

var would call back the offside ffs there is no way they would allow a penalty to be awarded to a player who had been standing offside in the passage of play.

seeing a lot of people on twitter raging about lies, saying collum has lied and its a disgrace.

nobody can seem to point to where he lied though, so those calling him a liar are actually lying about him.

nothing on the turnbull one, which was onside, and a penalty given some of the hands on penalties rangers have been awarded lately.

the only way we can prove it is if the audio is released.... rangers have heard it and say that there was no communication about offside in the incident.

Only way that can be proven to be correct or incorrect would be if they are made public.

i don't think he has ever claimed it was offside has he?

the lines were shown later on but i don't think the claim was ever that it wasn't given, he simply didn't think it was a handball.

like goldsons save

or on the very first var game when the hearts player had a handball.

i'd have wanted a penalty if it was against us, just like the goldson one and just like the hearts one.

the amount of unpunished handballs goldson has had and rangers having the bottle to cry conspiracy for one decision they wouldn't have got a penalty for is mental.

Collum didn’t think it merited a penalty for handball. That should have been the end of it. By half time, the BBC knew that there was also offside as well that even if he had thought it was a penalty, then it wouldn’t have been awarded for the offside in the build up. They discussed it at half time on the radio apparently, but was also on their live feed of the game. Don’t know why that was shown or discussed because it wasn’t needed. I think it was handball, but it wouldn’t have mattered as the offside negates that.

I find it odd that rangers haven’t decided to question more the penalty that Kilmarnock were awarded, as that was more contentious and ended in rangers genuinely losing something from that award. I’m sure they’ve got their reasons for that.

did they not confirm half way through the 2nd half that it was given as offside?

thats the whole debate going on. VAR said no penalty , ref said no penalty and a goal kick awarded.

after everyone said it was a stone waller at half time, we were informed that it was offside decision is why it wasnt awarded. despite no offside flag, no offside signal by the ref and no free kick for offside given, but the refs said after the game the reason it was given was offside, rangers have now listened to the audio of the VAR and have said there was no communication of offisde and that the decision was no penalty.

its a case off the refs changing their reasons for decisions after they have made it to paint them in a better light, to cover up mistakes and the such.

what do you mean nothing ??

it was most likely looked at by VAR and both the ref and VAR decided it wasnt a foul.

I don’t think anyone has claimed the reason for the penalty not being awarded was for offside. That looks more like and interpretation of the offside being shown.

They’ve confirmed there was no offside call made so no idea what point you’re trying to make. Audio would just confirm it.

Collum and the VAR team simply didn’t believe it was a deliberate handball and they missed that it last came off Johnson. That’s all there is to it.

If they had understandably given a penalty then the passage of play would have been studied and an offside given. Penalty rescinded.

does it ?? there was a ref saying that they shouldnt have been able to use VAR to decide if it was offside in this incident?
