Leeds couldn’t get a beat out of Dj Ed Spence. They needed to get him in the mix more often, which they didn’t do, and the result was he faded out. I think he’ll come back to spurs looking to start from scratch, and get in the groove, he’s got plenty of technics, and will want to change the record.,
BTW....Dier to Bayern Munich. Thank you agent Kane
-------------
Doesn't Kane want to try and win the league there?
We must get these new signings done sooner or later. Tonight is already one game we'll not have the benefit of using any new players. Admittedly what we have should be enough but we know how down to the bones we're going to be this month and we have a huge PL game mid-Jan.
Sounds like he is Ndombele mk2, talented but zero work rate and application. Apparently he doesn`t like to track back and just jogs like he can`t be arced.
If this is true, Levy has to take all the blame as we are led to believe that it was him that pushed for the Spence transfer, which is turning out to be a waste of money at this point.
The Dragusin deal has been complicated by the Napoli offer, this will probably drag on and on, not that it would have been completed swiftly anyway.
Dier to Bayern is almost certainly a load of bull.
Apparently he doesn`t like to track back and just jogs like he can`t be arced.
--------------------------------
That's what I saw too often. No doubt a talented player, just not sure he has work rate to match it......
Spence looked a very exciting prospect and certainly when flourishing at Forest under Cooper, was an all action player. Not sure he'd get away with being lazy under Cooper.
May be he could flourish under Ange, but i think overall you are right, that his attitude is what holds him back.
When we bought him, we had Paratici, so while this deal is framed as a Levy buy, its not really. Levy will want to see younger prospects coming into the club, not just bigger more expensive stars. He wants this sort of profile (age, cost, potential), which Conte had no interest in, but Levy will not be responsible for scouting him. So I don't buy this "its all on Levy"
Getting this profile is a key part of our business, and Spence is not really that different to getting in Sarr or Udogie, or back in time the likes of Dele, Walker, Dier. Sometimes things work out, or sometimes, like Rodon too, they don't.

I dont get players like this. He has a real chance to make a great career for himself and earn serious money.
He's different from NDomb in that NDomb got his big contract and then made little effort. Spence, despite being at Spurs, is probably only on £25k a week....if he really developed that could be on a big contract, 4, 6, 8 times what he earns now. But to do that he needs total commitment and effort. Aside from the wages he could be part of something special at Spurs, play in the UCL, push for trophies.
If he doesnt then it will only be a step down from Spurs and a a step down in wages.
I hope Ange really gets Spence's head in the right place because he would be a really good addition if he put all his talents to good use.
the Chickens are coming home to roost, reggie too
Conte was clear from day one that this was a “club signing” - basically another N’jie and N’kodou.
Even Jack Clarke who is now looking a real talent comes under this bracket. Now we have Ange I don’t want to see anymore “club signings” if our budget is finite, use the money on players Ange wants because he has no issue with trying younger players, so if he thinks they are good enough then great, otherwise stop dikking about and wasting money

Sarr is a club signing.
Udogie is a club signing
Bought as young talent with potential who have taken a 1 or 2 to get near the first team, and are still 21.
Our transfers strategy has to be a blend of both targeted instant quality, the bigger money on clear talent, added to "club signings" who come at low cost, low wages and may or may not prove to be decent deals.
We will get our money back on Rodon as hes been a success at Leeds.
We may even get a lot of our Jack Clarke money back if he makes a bigger move as we have a 50% sell on.
Sarr & Udogie are now worth fortunes.
Spence, bought for £12m has not been a success so far.
We have recently spent on Luka Vuskovic, £12m on a 16 yo. HE may turn out to be awesome or he may not.
This is essential to a club like us and you cannot dismiss "club signings" as being pointless or of no benefit...yes, may be they are to a manager like COnte who has no intention to develop anyone or stick around long enough to benefit from it, but for me that is not the sort of manager I want or the way I want our club to operate. Some of our biggest success stories have been "club signings" and many of our biggest failures have been big level deals.

I do t k me how genuine this quote from Miroslav lose is, but it sums up the likes of Sancho & Spence well:
Miroslav Klose: "I said stop playing football because I no longer recognised it. Today, young players think about other things. As a child, I only thought about training and becoming someone in this sport that I always loved. At Lazio and in the national team, after each training session, I put myself in a bathtub full of ice to avoid injuries. But the young players on the team systematically refused.
When they saw me picking up the bags of balls to put them away at the end of training, they said to me 'But who tells you to do that?'.
At that moment, I said to myself: 'You're 20 years old and you can't help a 60-year-old worker?'
They care more about whether their boots go with their socks. That's why I said stop. The football I knew no longer exists.
Today's young players think first of cars, contracts with their sponsors, and their new boots. It is only after all these things that football comes. For them, their image is the most important thing. Whereas for me, all that mattered was football in its purest form.”
I remember farke doing a similar thing when we sent Marcus Edwards on loan to Norwich, think he cancelled his loan after only 1 appearance. He's gone on to have a good career in Portugal, moments like that can be a wake-up call. Hopefully something similar happens for Spence
Real shame. I thought we had a real player in Spence but the fact is we didn't play him in his best position or he was injured.
Obviously his lack of drive and fitness didn't impress Farke who will not tolerate anyone in the team who doesn't train well.
Ndombele is due to return soon as well 😂

If he has a sucky attitude, then his big move to Spurs which may well have been a turning point, would have been brought to an abrupt halt by Conte who seemed to refuse to play him because he was a "club buy". Not the experienced, seasoned international that he probably demanded.
Bit of bad luck for the guy, but may be he would have turned out the same any way. WHo knows.
According to reports Spurs have put him straight up for sale.
Shows what everyone thinks of his attitude I guess.
Tottenham put loanee outcast Djed Spence immediately up for sale after being left stunned when Leeds cut £20m star's loan short due to problems with 'professionalism and being good for the group'
Mail!
“It's important, the potential and the quality of the player but also it's professionalism, it's discipline, it's workload on and off the pitch and also the soft skills, so if he's positive and committed, good for the group and engaged with these topics, paint then more or less a picture.
And we decided ok, this is the player we want in our group and want to represent Leeds United, our demands are very, very high and we don't differ between loan players, permanent players - so we are pretty picky in this topic." #LUFC

Good get rid. Hopefully the likes of Fulham, Brentford, Palace or clubs of that ilk, take him in loan with an option to buy. Can't see anyone willing to take a risk with a transfer fee for him.
