Jason Roy has a terrible technique. looks like hes chopping wood. he was never gonna make it a test level.
But since we had no one at the time,. he was chosen. thats always the issue with me.. the selection panel. always chose people "they like"
no reason they can't pick a player at county level and give them a series. the'y don't
Its amazing they even chose Hartley.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure his technique is terrible...when he's on song there's few better...he just doesn't back himself to defend enough & pays the price...poor judgement more like
Id let bairstwo and pope go in the summer.
Pope's averaging 34, and just not getting any better.
Rattling through them now....
England should stick to 3 test series in India. They can't handle 5.
Astonishing that Stokes bowled Rohit with his first ball for about a year. Then Jimmy got his 699th. But India are still in an extremely strong position.

I'd persist with Pope for now as He's averaging 40 odd since moving to number 3 and he's way too good for County so it must be a mental thing.
Give him the home summer against easier opposition but if he fails again then bring in Bohannon.
They won't get rid of the vice captain.
Yeah I did think that but if he struggles at home against WI and SL then surely the convo needs to be had, as on paper they're some of the easiest games you'll ever have.
Then again can't see it in this regime.
Bumrah to pick up a brace before the close?

Yeah....they won't need to bat again.
Pitiful effort from England again
What a farce this tour has turned into.
No doubt the commentators will continue talking about Stokes solitary wicket when the game was already lost.
Bazball is dead..we are a fackin pitiful omnishambles
Will Lord Jimmy now finally retire after chasing the unscaled Mount 700 wickets, or will he continue to play for more personal records and go for the coveted 200 tests? Time will tell.
England aren't going to abandon their mentality after a series loss especially with a couple of easier home series coming up in the summer.
They've had a few bad days on this tour which have cost them dearly but they've had some very good days as well. Bar one good partnership from Root and Foakes, I think we've looked worse when we haven't been positive and that is the more concerning element for me. Sometimes you need to play more atttritional stuff and this team don't look capable of it and we've been taught a lesson by India.

He's targeting 1000 wickets from 300 test matches playing to the age of 50 to lap up all the attention he can get. This is all he wants.

Can he get another 114 test matches in the next 8 years though? I suspect he may need to play to 65.

Always 1 step ahead
This is a bit embarrassing now with Root playing on to maybe try to score a hundred. We should just declare and accept the innings loss.
