can't wait for the first ref to lose his head and create a 10v7 situation for over 10% of regulated time
Expect to see more timewasting and fake injuries during those 10 minutes.
Are ideas bad ideas just because we don't have faith in the people administering them to do it right? In principle, a sin bin seems like a good thing to me. There are lots of instances where a red card seems too harsh a punishment, while a free kick / yellow card is well worth taking one for the team. I think it would be useful to have the option of a more significant sporting punishment for a cynical foul. And there are situations where a red card + penalty i.e. 80% of a goal are way too severe a consequence for certain types of foul.

Which the ref can address by sin-binning the fake injured player!
feck me why? has anyone - fans, clubs, players - asked for this.
F**king leave the game alone!
I revise my previous statements.
I can’t wait for football to just end already.
The good news is the UEFA bloke has chucked this idea in the bin and it won’t be introduced in European matches.

Orange and red clash a bit, blue is significantly different. Blue can also be seen as a cool down a bit card 😅
If applied properly, it will force managers and defensive players to completely change their defensive tactics
We all know it won't be though.

This
Think they should be doing more to keep it 11 v 11 and make punishments fit crimes.
Would accept "sin bins" if it meant a mistimed tackle was that instead of a red, but this seems to be for highly debateable things that will be dealt with very inconsistently. Refs will decide games more than ever.
Seriously who's got control over this? Starting to see why the Super League thing came about. Pandering to international online fanbases who don't care about the game just want engagements

make punishments fit crimes.

So if you feign injury you get kicked in the nuts?
What a stupid idea. I'm not surprised they would think of it though.

Daftest rule change idea I have ever heard.
We have yellow and red cards. 2 yellows make a red.
Thats all a referee and the players needs to know.
Immediately this just makes me think time wasting is going to be an advanced tactic. You'll get 10 minutes of 10 men behind the ball, holding it in the corner etc.
Tbf Sin Bin works really well in amateur football, and when you see the abuse a lot of refs still get from players, you can see why they want it.
Not sure how it would work with time wasting, though. Teams can easily kill most of that 10 minutes so will just encourage even more time wasting.
Time wasting is easy to solve. If you don't get the ball back in play in a certain amount of time the decision gets reversed - so if a keeper wastes time on a goalkick it becomes a corner.
Plus - in terms of a sin bin - if the clock is stopped in the game then it is stopped in the sin bin. So if a 'keeper goes down holding his head and is treated for 5 minutes of a players sin bin time then that 5 minutes is added back on.
Will be interesting if a keeper is sin binned. Do you chuck a 'keeper on from the bench for an outfield player or put an outfield player in goal for 10 minutes? Should the first option even be allowed?

Doesn't stop time wasting with the ball in play. There's no denying teams down a player will park the bus and break up the game
