I'd take Gomez as he's been excellent this season but has also shown he can play anywhere across the back which is always handy in a tournament.
He’ll take Henderson and Phillips, most likely.
Probably leave Mainoo at home.
What a joke that would be.
We should be favourites for the Euros with the ridiculous talent we have but we have a crap manager unfortunately

Mainoo shouldn’t go but neither should Henderson or Phillips but sadly I agree with you, they’ll somehow end up at the tournament.

Who would you take for that position?
Been really impressed by Harvey Elliot lately. When does he start coming into the conversation?
Admittedly I don't tend to watch much games these days outside of Liverpool but for CM then Jones is worth a shout.

Whilst I'm certainly not advocating for certain players to go, Henderson for example, there's much more to international football tournaments than just picking whoever has had the best 6 months of form.
Phillips wont go. He has not played much this season, then when he has, he has been awful.
Jones has been really good all season. It is just the injuries that is a worry. Player of the tournament when we won the U21's last summer. Plus MoM in the final.
Klopp always picks him when fit. If anyone knows a player, Klopp does. Well with the exception of Gakpo right now I guess.
Curtis Jones is a decent shout although not watched enough of Liverpool to see the positions he’s been taking up.
It’s a real problem that Southgate has left that area of the pitch exposed due to his ridiculous loyalty to Henderson and Phillips.
The talent at our disposal currently is unbelievable, the envy of everyone bar France and Possibly Spain. The side should be built around our 2 indisputably world class players of Kane and Bellingham. Saka, Foden, Palmer, Grealish, Maddison, Eze, Bowen, Rashford, Sterling is a crazy amount of talent for the wide forward positions.
Rice is nailed on as the box to box mid and we all know Safegate will play a DM rather than an additional attacker - despite us lacking quality outside of Rice in that position.
Best choice of RB’s in the world as well I reckon - Walker, Trent, James and Trippier. LB Shaw and Chilwell. CB Stones and knowing Southgate it will be Maguire with Guehi and Dunk as the back up - and I wouldn’t rule out him picking Dier also.
Then an average keeper in Pickford.
France are the only team that can go toe to toe with us
Pope, Pickford, Ramsdale
Walker, James
Stones, Gomez, Smalling, Tomori
Chilwell, Shaw
Rice, TAA
Bellingham, Foden, Palmer, Gallagher
Saka, Bowen
Kane, Watkins
Sterling, Rashford
Some players worth having a look at to break into above with injuries and poor form etc.
Jones
Elliott
Eze
Gordon
Barkley
Sancho
Maguire
Guehi
Trippier
Not seen much of Mainoo but United fans seem to rate him
It’s very hard to cut through the hype these days but I thought Harvey Elliot looked good against City on Sunday

Yes, he’s in the u21s
player for player its between you and France and anything less than winning it should be thought as failure.
Rumours are that Jack Butland might be back in the squad.
Lewis plays a position which there is so much competition in, although he has already demonstrated his versatility.
I don’t think Lewis isn’t ready for a competitive game at that level yet, friendlies possibly
The nexy squad will tell us a lot.
Mainoo and ELliot should be there on form.
Gomes is also in good form but i would not have him as a straight CB choice and we do not really need another utility right back as Walker is a cert, TAA will also cover CM which potentially frees up another space.
I think Hendo will go because he is now playing at a higher level and has the experience, and we lack any real quality to play alongside Rice.
Shame TAA may well miss the next squad as the chances to practice with him alongside Rice will be limited. Same for Jones.
Think the CM/AMs will be Rice Gallagher Hendo Bellingham and Maddison, with TAA the utility player at RB or CM
I like the idea of Gallagher alongside Rice.
Part of me also wonders if you could try Maddison and Bellingham ahead of Rice in an attacking 433. Rice has such quality that he could probably be the anchor on his own.
With such attacking quality at our disposal we may as well play to our strengths.
A few shout outs for Elliot and I have to agree. Hasn't put a foot wrong this season.
Kind of going under the radar.
