Is no one gonna mention Ben White?

Average player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More than half the players in the current England setup are average at best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This.

If we're not going to take any average players, we'll only have 12 players in the squad.

Would be nice if Southgate could try some new ideas out against Brazil and Belgium this month. But he'll probably play Kane, Henderson and Phillips for 90 minutes in both.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You and I know that Raheem Sterling will be the first name on Southgate's list.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah he'll get his 8-man defence sorted first

I think it’s too late in the day for Gordon. Between Foden, Rashford, Grealish and Sterling we’ve got the left wing sorted with players that have regular experience in the England squad and in big European games.

Gomez has to go, versatile and hes earnt it. Hendo i get why he went but surely to god we dont need him for that now. Theres enough character and exp/leadership in there now. No doubt hes been important in helping the young team but if he goes again it'll just be plainly wrong.

Ben White thing, hes finding some form recently but i think hes been quite poor most tthe season. Trippiers got some serious points on ffp for assists etc but he too i felt has been pretty poor overall.

Be wrong if he takes people like Kalvin Phillips and Sterling too.

Quansah, Mainoo, Elliott, Palmer and prob loads more knocking on the door. Eze?

Id be taken Gordon over Rashford, Sterling and Grealish. I dont like this thing where form isnt the most important thing. You should have to connstantly earn your right to play for the national team.

Outside shout for a striker - Vardy?

Form seems to be good, albeit for a Championship team.

Rashford is streaky, but if he finds his grove before the end of the season then he is well worth taking.

Sterling - always better for England than he is for his club

Agree in principle, but international and especially tournament experience is key as well.

How are you meant to get international experience if you’re playing well every week in the league but he still picks someone playing shiyte every week because the used to play well when they earned their first call up?

Do we need that? Our young talented players have enough experience surely. Played in Euro finals, CL finals, won trebles the lot. Theres no more experience they can get other than more games majority of them have done it on all the biggest stages. And itll still have older players in there walker stones etc you'd imagine.

A lot of the young English talent have been having a lot of success at the international youth stages too. Palmer Jones Elliott Colwil Gordon all part of a team that won the u21 euros last year.

This I agree with. England managers have historically overplayed the big names, meaning others just don't have the experience when the major tournaments come round.

Not read the comments, but I would expect Dier to make the squad if he keeps playing for Bayern

Especially experience playing together as a team. For the first time in decades England do play as a team and people cry about it because the squad doesn’t get changed because of some decent form in the league.

Safegate is a dreary loser and won't change his dullard ideology now.

He'll play his favourite cloggers even if they've been injured all season.

I expect he'll start Phillips, Mount, Henderson and Rice in midfield and expect us all to be grateful🤢🤢🤮🤮

I’d be surprised if those four have even been on the pitch at the same time, let alone starting.

Rashford is a decent option for games where we’re not expecting to dominate possession. He’d be in my squad, even though I don’t think he’s technically as good as he thinks he is.

posted on 12/3/24

Even in games where we will he is capable of moments of magic to score or create a goal, especially off the bench against tired legs. His form is obviously a concern for United, but I think England would be stupid not to include him in the squad for the Euros given what he’s capable of and being one of the few players in the England squad that scores goals for England.
