Can’t believe it, I mean Ronnie never played well enough and am fine with him going out, but was expecting a young gun to knock him out, not Bingham ffs.

Anyway, first final since 2015 to not include Ronnie, Selby or Higgins

Ronnie didn't play well against Day, & I feared Bingham.. I'd love a new world champ...

Wilson will cruise to the title now

Wilson vs Bingham would be a decent final, considering the circumstances

You wait for years for the new generation to come through and end up with Gilbert, Wilson, Bingham and the lonely guy.

It’s got to be Wilson, surely…

There really is nothing from the new generation. I mean anyone under 25 look like becoming a top class star? Maybe Si, but who else?

Wilson won't cruise to the title, as Wetherby would put it, he is a loser

If he doesn't do it this year, he will never do it.

And if Jones or Gilbert wins it, and Ding never does, well...................

Bingham is one of the few players to fear Ronnie. They used to practice a lot together, and Ronnie has hyped Stuart up before he became World Champion

10 years ago Ronnie was 10-5 up on Selby... Could & should be 8 times champ, that match still makes me sick.. ... Maybe Ronnie will always be the joint holder....

pretty underwhelming semi lineup, best i can hope for now is a new winner, though i'm not sure i care that much which one (maybe wilson, if pushed).

and if ronnie can't win his 8th this year, with all the big names out, you do wonder whether he ever will.

Ronnie down to world number 4, could be 5 if Wilson or Gilbert wins...

I have never really had a problem with both Ronnie and Hendry being on 7. Firstly, Ronnie has won way more majors and even won more ranking events which 10 years ago seemed impossible. Also, with Hendry being dominant for so long, beating all Hendry’s records is like beating your big brother.

It would be nice for Ronnie to get more as has under achieved at the Worlds, but being level with Hendry is totally ok with me. It’s Hendry.

But I want to really see a new generation come through, I don’t really like seeing ‘flash in the pan’ winners. It’s nice to see, but really doesn’t move the game forward.

Ball Run never missed a ball, he has done nothing for a long time and then produced that performance. He`ll probably drop off in the next match, it will be impossible to maintain that level.

Wilson v Bingham final would be my guess

I've said a few times, there really isn't much to the new generation. Pretty much everyone is 30 or older in the top 16, maybe except Brecel

Bingham played well, but Ronnie still had chances to win - he basically cracked first before Bingham did, but if it got to 11-12, Bingham would have really felt it.

I can even live with Judd, Ding, Allen and Brecel as the new generation even though they are not really that young, but they should’ve done better at the Crucible. I mean Brecel won last year but other than that, he hasn’t even won a match.

what's all that bollox about the respotted black?
clearly there was no potting angle.
are they blind or what?

In the last 10 years, Ronnie has only reached the semi finals twice at the Worlds. That surprised me a little. Fair enough those 2 times he ended up winning it and beat Thep, Ding, Williams, Selby, Wilson, Gilbert, Allen, Maguire, Higgins and Judd. Now that is an impressive list.
