Doherty made a timely tackle on MGW. Unfortunately the ball ran kindly for their player to tap in.
————

What actually happened was Doherty passed the ball to MGW in his own area and then failed with a tackle to stop him setting up the second goal. Just as last week he passed the ball to Pacqueta in his own area whose cross hit the hand of Kilman for their penalty

I’m not arguing with you as it’s pretty clear you’ve had too much to drink again.

In case you didn’t notice, the reason we had so many players out was because we played them far too often and bought them back from injury too soon.

GON told the club in January that our injury list would grow, if we continued pushing the same small group of players in the same way. He also said more recently that the players are running on empty, or to put it another way, they have “run out of steam”.

"O’Neil has also been without defender Craig Dawson for the past month, while Rayan Ait-Nouri missed out with a calf strain, and the Wolves head coach admitted his patched up squad is running on empty.

“It is the toughest spell I’ve ever been involved in as a player or a coach, I don’t think many coaches will be selecting their XI from 12 outfield players,” he said.

So what are you saying? That the cup match knocked the stuffing out of them and GON is going to have a job motivating them.

Or are you agreeing with me and GON that we have too many injuries and too small a squad.

All semantics. Fairly clear we are running on empty and naturally, belief, following a run of crappy injuries and the results which come with that.

All in all we can't be too disappointed with this season but annoyingly we could have achieved far more.

I’m saying we’ve ran out of steam. GON agrees with me, unless you think that running on empty doesn’t mean the same thing?

You on the other hand think they’ve got loads left in the tank and fatigue isn’t playing a part in our recent form of 2 points from the last 12

We don’t have any problem that’ won’t be solved by having the likes of Cunha, Ait Nouri, Hwang and Bellegarde back. Not the case at all that the squad had the stuffing knocked out of them by losing to Coventry or that GON will struggle to motivate them. The results are all down to having a whole forward line absent from a thin squad

The forward line we’ve needed to send out at times with Fraser, Chiwome and an out of position Lemina wouldn’t have been good enough to finish in the top half of the championship let alone the Premier League

Sounds like Dawson may yet need surgery on his injury so likely he won’t be returning to the team any time sooob

Now you’ve sobered up you might recall you didn’t say anything in your first post in reply about stuffing or motivation? You just said it was nothing to do with running out of steam?

Nothing to do with running out of steam.

It’s clearly nonsense, as anyone with eyes and the first clue what they’re watching can see that the thin squad are running on empty and have run out of steam.

Have a couple of paracetamol and go back to bed Spanner

We got a good point yesterday with. Cunha and Hwang playing part games. Next week they will probably play close to full games as will Ait Nouri and then the team will show they aren’t running on empty or lacking motivation, just been lacking forwards

Obviously if you refill your tank, you are no longer running on empty Spanner?

I’m not arguing anyway, you’ve clearly woke and started straight back on it

I've been accused of never admitting when I'm wrong, which is actually not true as I've owned up to mistakes.

However, you'll never get Mr DJ Molineux (aka spangles, teacher, etc) admitting he's ever wrong. It's amazing how booze affects the brain.

Not sure any of us should be throwing around alcoholic insinuations.

Hadn’t realised you admitted to mistakes wolfie. So do you maintain Doherty was unfortunate with Forest’s second goal yesterday or on reflection do you think him passing to MGW in the Wolves area might have been helpful to Forest?

I actually said I’d be happy for us to get back half the forwards we’ve been missing but that’s by the by and pleased you’ve now come round to agreeing with me and GON that’s it’s the number of players, mainly forwards, that’s been missing from our small squad that’s been the problem..

Not the point you originally made that we’d had the stuffing knocked out of us by losing to Coventry and that GON would have a job motivating them now. But I’m sure you’d be happy to admit to being wrong to say that.

Amazing that Liverpool have lost twice at home in a few days without scoring. Remember them saying Clinton was a lame duck president when his replacement was announced. Maybe now that Klopp has said he is going, he’s not got the players behind him any more. Could be a sad end to his tenure

The point I originally made, and you contested, was that we had ran of steam and were running on empty.

I was correct in that. You were wrong.

Own it.

=========================================
Doherty actually intercepted a pass aimed at their #11 and the ball shot of his foot. He then chased after it and tackled MGW. Unfortunately the ball spun off into the path of their player who slotted it home. So to suggest he "passed" the ball to MGW is ridiculous.

All this could have been avoided if Santi Bueno had chested the ball down when having plenty of time to do so, rather than head it away. Even Lemina remonstrated with SB for a bad decision.
