5*

Thanks View for the time and effort to create these on a weekly basis. We look forward to reading your MT, some impatiently. From the conversations regarding tactics, to the graphics and colours....(of the opposition) it's been a great way to build the excitement and tension for the games.

In recent weeks I've noticed myself becoming more involved with the number of comments. Could this thread be the first of the season to reach 600 comments? ( Long way to go to hit the all time record but as Derby have been all about breaking records this season....who knows if we will too?)

On a separate note I'm currently listening to Undr the Cosh and Tim Sherwood is the guest. He mentioned he'd agreed a deal with Arthur Cox to join Derby before Blackburn came calling.

I never knew about this deal, did any of you? It's certainly up there with Petit linked to us before Arsenal signed him or Baggio flirting with Derby before Bologna persuaded the Divine Ponytail maestro to join them instead.

Thanks for another great season.
I dont know if I have enough DT in me for a 4 day pre-amble, but I'll give it a go.

Well done View for putting in the work to set it all off every week. If there are 600 comments I expect half of them will be comments about how many comments there are!

My limited contributions have been pre and post match. I've worked out I've clocked up just under 10,000 miles travelling to and from games this season! An early goal for us please on Saturday. Just for once I would like to actually enjoy a game while it is taking place. No matter what happens there will be tears.

I think this thread should be dedicated to bringing the TTO (Tall Ticketless One) home from East Anglia for the day.

If this isn’t your last match thread of the season there are going to be a lot of disappointed fans. Can we possibly manage one more clean sheet. What should be a formality always becomes an epic struggle for Derby. I think most would be happy with 0 0 although if Bolton are winning big at Peterborough that would cause some sweaty palms, squeaky bums and various other anatomical complaints.

My unofficial POTY has to be View who is surely worth another contract. Good on you, sir. (By the way, the prize is a day out with Spart!)

And Vidal is definitely fan of the year although it's a tad disappointing that he did not clock up the full 10,000 normally required for that accolade and for that reason and that alone he does not get any prize. My vote for Windy City fan of the year is Chicago (no prize good enough) and Heb is certainly Hebridean FOTY for which the prize is a new sporran.

I am sure we will get a record 600 for this thread especially if all sorts of extras are brought in like View's PGMOL comment. (I've not found anything about a giving in to Forest's pressure.) Poor old Forest! As if they are the only club to suffer from poor decisions. Doubtless they have benefitted form poor decisions too. I have heard fans saying that Forest have had more bad decisions against them than any other club. How on earth can they possibly know that? They would have to have watched every single game of every single club - some feat. That said I do think VAR needs a complete overhaul or should be scrapped. Why not just have the usual ref and two linos plus fourth official? Of course there will be mistakes but no system can ever guarantee complete accuracy. Controversy adds a bit of a spark to the game and it's got to be the case that bad decisions etc even themselves out over a season.

I feel so sorry for the Heed. To be kicked out of the playoffs because the Council will not grant a ten-year lease of the stadium is appalling as was Fergie's selection decision against Cheltenham - so unfair on Posh fans, Port Vale and Burton. Will he pick a full side against Bolton?

Right, that's me done. Over to y'all.

It's been a weird old season. There have been previous promotion campaigns where we started badly, then found our feet and there was a feeling that we were heading for a successful finish. This time around there have been doubts almost all the way about the manager and the way we have been playing. You expect it from Scouse of course, who has pronounced at the end of almost every single match that "It was 5hite", but even happy clappers like myself and my lads have been in despair at times. Many has been the anguished post-mortem on the long journey home.

After Cheltenham and Shrewsbury away in October I thought there was no way back for Warne. Even some of the subsequent wins were so unconvincing it was impossible to imagine we could be anything better than play-off fodder at best. Most other teams, even those towards the bottom, seemed to pass it to each other so much more effectively than we did. But in the end the key has been, as Brian Clough always maintained, a solid defence. This has counted for more than pretty football. We have kept the opposition out and have pinched enough goals at the other end to accumulate the necessary points. Warne knows that you don't necessarily need to produce better football than the enemy to win the game. There are other routes to success.

I haven't really thought about it this way before, but it's like golf: what actually matters is your score, not how you achieved it. The scorecard tells no stories. If we get over the line on Saturday, all hail Paul Warne.
