OK. Thursday morning.
I'm going to put the Gypsies curse on the game and say here and now that we WILL get a positive result on Saturday. Warney and the guys on the pitch will NOT allow a negative result. There....its said. QED. Cheers. Terry in Spain 🇪🇸

It would be worthy of a re-read that thread for sure.

We’ve been a championship club for hours now but no progress from where we were in Div 1. Questions need to be asked of PW, it’s just not good enough

I must admit I felt our professional way of playing would be enough to see off Carlisle... and so it proved today but you could see how they won at Posh and Bolton. But in the end we finished 5 points clear of 3rd place and with the best GD in the division.
I'm glad to be shut of L1 with its awful Refs... but no doubt the Champ will bring its own challenges.
I'm pleased Warney got this over the line for us. He seems a genuinely good bloke unlike some of the big time Charlie's we've had in the past. Whilst the brand of football was not always pretty, over the season it was effective and I trust the bloke to stand us in good stead next season. That said I wonder how many of this seasons team will be with us next. I think we have a good foundation but I'd expect 5 or 6 additions.
I said this the other day, but I still can't understand Birdy going to Brisle. Too much of a sideways step for me. The home fixture v City will be interesting though eh. I thought his goal today was a fitting finale for the 12 years he spent here. As I look at todays team I see so much commitment and desire from the players. I'm singling out Sibs as I think he's really stepped up in recent weeks and I hope he's one the will stay. One that I think will leave is Hourihane. That said he's had some good moments during the season. I see also Wildsmith got the "Golden Glove" but much of that is down to the likes of Cash and Nels in front of him. Equally he's made some outstanding saves [as well as some notable blunders]
I thought the post match celebrations were fantastic and as good - if not better than any I've witnessed. All in all a memorable campaign...but for Warney and his team the work starts again on Monday. Cheers. Terry in Spain 🇪🇸

He does seem a little downbeat and melancholy, even the fact he told Rams TV he's in his office if needed.

Maybe he's just being super humble, and doesn't want to steal the limelight, which is in his nature.

The fact he said he was relieved for David Clowes that he got the job done, that he knew he wasn't the most popular choice and said little about the fans or players or celebrating with them.

Like he'll get wrecked with the coaches tomorrow in Yaaarkshire. It does feel like there's a bit of hurt or dissociation for him. I get how a lot of managers doing their best would have been stung by the criticism thrown his way.

His style of play is very difficult to love I admit, but I think his man management and the effort him and his staff and players put into games is evident. I guess we'll see.

Thank you for getting us promotion though Mr Warne. Just wanted it put on record.

And please stop speculating on managerial things of which we know nothing. At least for tonight. Relax.
