He’s fit and he’ll want to play so I don’t see why we don’t play him. I think he needs to play to prove he’s recovered and if he’s moving on that will have a big impact on his sale value. If we need to wrap him in cotton wool in case he gets injured again then his career is shot. Cunha and Hwang have both come through their comebacks fine

Not a question of wrapping him up, I would rather he is fit to start a pre-season with us, as this season is effectively over.

Regarding his sale value, if he didn't play again this season then he would be less likely to move. May be clutching at straws there.

Yes Cunha and Hwang have both come through their comebacks fine, but I think Neto is far more susceptible to recurring injury the way he plays.

Would love to see him with us next season playing to his potential which, based on his performances when fit this season, is very high.

Pretty sure the clubs intention is to move on Neto and no doubt he is also thinking that way. Playing him gets him back out there I guess.

Agree wulfrun I’d love him to stay as I would Ait Nouri, Cunha, Kilman, Gomes, Semedo, plus our four midfielders. Add a couple of decent signings to that lot and we have quite a team.

But I don’t expect them all to stay, and Neto is probably the most likely departure. Just hope we get what he’s worth which is upwards from £50m for me

He's not fully fit and that's why I wouldn't start Neto, for the simple reason, we tried that with Hwang when he came back from the Asia Cup and it backfired. (He too most likely wanted to play). But with only three games to go, maybe give him the last 15 minutes or so, as I'm sure he'll be in the Portugal squad for the Euro's. Their first game isn't until the 18th June. There's nothing to gain by playing him too much and risking that hamstring.

If he were to break down again in the last three games it would be pretty catastrophic for him and us that is for sure.

I'd like to think that between the medical staff, coaching staff and senior management, the club have enough about them just about to know if he's recovered sufficiently to play or not. Personally I'd love to see him one more time playing in front of us at molineux, would be sad if the last I were ever to see of him in a Wolves shirt were to be him hobbling off holding his hamstring.

Another reason not to start Neto, is the fact that we will probably be out-possessed 65-35 or more, which means we have to rely on the breaks. That's exactly what we did when we beat them at Molineux. Neto, I doubt, cannot reproduce that amazing run for our first goal.

Really do think that the last comeback from injury happened too quickly.

The fact that we will be out-possessed is the very reason, I think, why he may well feature.

Relying on breaks is Neto's bread and butter.

Going to miss this. Cricket season has started now, so unless we win quickly (it is a possibility as we are playing a team that will probably be fighting relegation on a pitch that has seen a lot of rain this week), I'll still be playing whilst this is on.

I suspect Neto will be on the bench tomorrow as will Bellegarde. Be good to see Neto get half an hour

Be even better to see him start next week against Palace. Maybe his last game at Molineux in a Wolves shirt. A real boost to the end of season game

Yes I am going next Saturday would be good to see Neto one last time, to be honest as we only get around half a season out of him it would not be a disaster if we sold him provided we got a decent striker or two in

He’s going to need a run of games to prove his fitness, if we are going to get anything like good money for him?

I don’t see him moving this summer now.

RAN will be the one to attract the big bids in my view, all the big boys need a new, proven quality left back/wing back. He would enhance the squad’s of all the top three.

Reading about the Tommy Doyle deal, City will get 50% of any fee we get if we sell him at a later date. City also have an option to buy him back, be interesting to know what the terms of that are.

Great signing for as long as we keep him at the club but not someone we should see as an asset to make a profit on as he develops

posted on 4/5/24

The buy back clause can only be activated in the next two windows.

We can still make a profit on him. We only signed him for £4.3 million. If we sold him for £20 million in the future, that is still a profit with 50% going to Man City. Its also worth noting that those clauses can be bought out, so it depends on what that figure is too.

While it’s impressive what Wolves have managed with such a comparatively low wage bill, it must be frustrating that as soon as you produce a decent player he gets sold on.

It's the unfortunate reality that FFP has created. Clubs outside the clubs that were rich when it was brought in, have to sell their best players to remain compliant. It ensures that all the best players go to the big clubs and the status quo is maintained.

Just watched the highlights of the win against City at the end of September. It must have been one of the last games where Neto, Cunha and Hwang all started. All 3 played a big part in the 2 goals. It shows what could have been.

posted on 4/5/24

Hopefully those three will play together again this season. But let’s also not forget that the win against City, along with a number of other games this season, was won as much by our defence as the attack

Our U18 team finish their season today and are beating Derby. They’ve won 6 of their last 7 games and will finish third in their league, only behind the two Manchester teams

Never mind Neto, the thing that could make us competitive today could be Sant Buenos availability.

It is frustrating. However, at least we are not breaking the rules.

Certainly rather have him in the back 3 than Semedo or Lemina.

Arsenal ahead today, so as if it wasn’t already, today is a must win game for City

Ipswich winning so they look set to clinch promotion today.

Hull losing so their play off hopes look over. The play offs will involve Leeds, Southampton, Norwich and Albion
