You wouldn't take Kroos?

Onana seems the obvious choice. Everton are desperate for cash so let’s offer them a deal for Onana and Branthwaite, £50m for the pair.

No, it would show we have learnt nothing.

He's been an amazing player and still can produce, as we saw last week... But if we were to actually buy him, we'd get to watch yet another great player become progressively worse. He'll be 35 next season.

Casemiro leaving depends on finding a buyer, which isn't a given unless there's a rich club that's not too bothered about return on investment. Of course it would be ideal to move him on, but if it's not possible, I guess his serious decline could be a lot less exposed if we build a team structure that doesn't leave the midfield with way too much space to patrol.

you are kidding right?. Branthwaite alone will not be sold for less than £50m

Ok, £30m for the pair.

I don’t think Onana is good enough.

Would be nice if we could sell some dead wood to the Saudi league, but we shouldn't count on the same level of investment as last summer. Particularly as the degree of local interest has been pretty embarassing.

Hasn’t there been quite a bit of noise about the Saudis wanting Casemiro? No idea if it’s true but he’s the exact profile they love. Same goes for Varane.

The trickier ones to move on will be Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Slabhead.

Realistically, Sancho either goes on loan again or we make a big loss on him. I can't see any of the other 3 moving on - Rashford will still be considered a possible starter, Maguire will be seen as a solid squad member and wages issue, Antony no-one else will want and fee issue.

Oh, I would like Palhinha from Fulham

If we can get £100m for Casemiro, Sancho and Greenwood I think we've got to take it and cut out losses. That's a lot of wages off the books as well as a decent kitty to help start the rebuild.

We are looking at a good 3-4 years now before we can even think of competing for a title again. The transfers we make now can't miss. They need to sensible fees with sensible wages and players that fit where we want to go as a club.

When I say 'trickier', I mean we haven't got a chance of selling them sadly.

I like Adam Wharton, but he’s only just gone to Palace and they’ll sell Olise, possibly Eze too. We also have Mainoo which would be a very young midfield.

Palinha would be a good option, Zubimendi looks brilliant from what I’ve seen.

By all accounts Liverpool struggled to prize him away?

Thiago Motta is doing a very good job, he’s young, has a flexible approach to games and apparently he’s build a great team spirit at Bologna.
