Really good view point. The worry for me is what we want and what we actually get may not be be exactly aligned.
We did have our targets lined up early last summer and signed some early doors. I do hope we have done the same for this summer and will not wait until the Euro's are over.
I guess some clubs will not do business until they are as stock of players involved will rise.
If we got a big offer for Son or Romero then I would also sell. 2 top players but Sons best years are behind him, if a Saudi club offered £75m plus I would be tempted to sell.
Romero - this guy is good but not great, people go on and on about him but he wouldn’t have started ahead of peak Toby and Jan. if £75m was offered I would again be tempted to sell.
Eze for me has to come in, he solves a number of issues for us and I think will be out of our reach after this summer. Olise would be great also but has a horrible injury record plus we will get bid up massively.
A motor in midfield is needed, Gallagher is the obvious choice but with Chelsea looking like they will be in Europe and selling off more land, I think we will again be turned down when we go for him.
Lots of talk about Toney - I do t want him, I do t think he is mobile enough for the system and he is also a massive diiiick head and a Gooner.
Would like to see us in for MGW, quality player and would give us more options up top

I get the feeling, without actually knowing, that Spurs are a more organised, better thought out operation now, with regards to transfers, allowing us to be a bit more decisive.
Even factors like playing in the Euro's might influence who they go for, knowing that unless a deal is done early, its unlikley to get anyone from the Euros in until later in the summer. SO it might be a case of sign now or we look elsewhere, already with a list of targets to hand.
Last summer we did pretty well considering we had no DoF, Levy was doing a lot of the negotiations and Paratici was putting players forward.
With Munn and Lange and Paratici in the background, there seems to be more football expertise in the building.
I think some buys will happen regardless, key ones! and others will be subject to offloading players.
I would say full cover is equally important as other positions.
I would also add Tyrese Hall, George Abbott and Will Lankshear to train with the squad from the Academy.
Also I'm sure Ange will want to look at Troy Parrott as well. He has done well overall cosidering his side finished 3rd bottom in the dutch league.

So what little leadership we have on the pitch you'd strip out and we'd have to replace them.
This aint FIFA on the PS5. In teh passed we have failed to succession plan for quality players. Son needs to stay, keep that continuity of leadership but his pitch time will diminish with someone like Olise (would be my 1st choice) pushing him and in time surpassing him. You do not sell, committed, loyal leaders like Son until he has no more to offer.
Sell Romero I just see no purpose in that . You seem to be promoting "doing a Levy" and selling our top assets to fund new buys.

Mug ain't got a clue tbf. Selling Romero or Son! He would probably call for Levy's head later on in the season such is Strike's fragility.
And he wants Toney even though he wouldn't pass Ange's character test and is a gooner.
Uttely clueless.

If we are in Europe next season I doubt we will see the same eleven game after game. Due to the amount of ground the full backs have to cover, we need two more players who can come into the rotation.

I do agree although that if we had limited budget, then Davies and Emerson or VDV could do a job.
If we get everyone we want (FWD, LW, CM, CB, LB, RB) it could be +£200m and i am not sure we have that to spend.
I would rather we spend strongly in the key areas and if the FB backup has to wait for next Jan/summer, so be it. As opposed to getting all these players in but cheaper options across the board.
Its hard to know how much budget we have, if we have any Kane money to spend, how much FFP wriggle room we have.
The first 4 priority sales are all 5m too much imo.
Tanganga probably closer to half the 5m as well.
Emerson probably 5m too little if rumoured Italian interest is there.
As usual with Spurs, they are a few players away Levy usually doesn't deliver them.
Podgy will need to be smart with signings but if given a decent budget plus sales there's a good chance of getting them this summer.
I think we have plenty off ffp wriggle room but I would guess we have around £130m ish available plus sales.
I think most of the Kane money might be spent on BJ and Drag tbh but it is hard to know.
Selling Emerson and Richy would help alot. I saw Fab saying AC Milan want him.
Emerson Royal is expected to leave #Tottenham this summer, with #Spurs looking to sign a new right-back to have a new backup option for Pedro Porro. They are super happy with Porro, but they want one more option to create some competition.
AC Milan have strong interest in Royal, he is top of their list for new right back signing, they want to be fast in their negotiations, In June, already they could make it happen.

Sons on the wane and we leak goals with Romero anyway. I think with £150m for the pair we could seriously upgrade. Stick £100m on the table for Isak and see if Newcastle blink. Let Paratici have £50m to find a new CB.
This isn’t like when we were selling Modric, Bale, Berba, etc. The players I am advocating selling for big money no longer have a major impact on whether we will be successful or not. There is an art to selling at the right time.

Furthermore, Romero is a poor leader in my opinion - the Chelsea home game highlighted that. He is too volatile and rash.
I love Son, but we would be mad to turn down a mega offer from the Saudi league for him. It’s all down hill from here with him sadly.
Will a new leader emerge, yes I believe in time they will. Bentancur looks like one to me in the interim. Vic has a voice, VDV looks like a future captain.
It’s been a meh season and we need to improve further - this is a potential short cut

Sell:
Emerson
Sess
Reguilon
Davies
Ndombele
Hjojberg
Lo celso (I’d keep but he won’t renew)
Richarlison (again I’d keep but I could see Ange wanting to sell.
I’d shift them and bring in Lloyd Kelly, Gallagher and MGW. Plus a new striker, but ain’t fussed on Toney. Would love Olise but we won’t pay want Palace will be looking.
Gio Lo Celso picked up a minor knee injury vs Manchester City, and is a doubt for this weekend’s match vs Sheffield United, according to Postecoglou

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what little leadership we have on the pitch you'd strip out and we'd have to replace them.
Sell RomeroI just see no purpose in that . You seem to be promoting "doing a Levy" and selling our top assets to fund new buys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sons on the wane and we leak goals with Romero anyway.

Mug ain't got a clue tbf. Selling Romero or Son! He would probably call for Levy's head later on in the season such is Strike's fragility.
And he wants Toney even though he wouldn't pass Ange's character test and is a gooner.

Its hard to know how much budget we have, if we have any Kane money to spend, how much FFP wriggle room we have.
posted on 17/5/24
The first 4 priority sales are all 5m too much imo.
Tanganga probably closer to half the 5m as well.
Emerson probably 5m too little if rumoured Italian interest is there.
As usual with Spurs, they are a few players away Levy usually doesn't deliver them.
Podgy will need to be smart with signings but if given a decent budget plus sales there's a good chance of getting them this summer.
posted on 17/5/24
I think we have plenty off ffp wriggle room but I would guess we have around £130m ish available plus sales.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what little leadership we have on the pitch you'd strip out and we'd have to replace them.
Sell RomeroI just see no purpose in that . You seem to be promoting "doing a Levy" and selling our top assets to fund new buys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sons on the wane and we leak goals with Romero anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Furthermore, Romero is a poor leader in my opinion - the Chelsea home game highlighted that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like Bentancur. But I could see Ange wanting to move him on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think after Bents came back early for the Bournemouth game, Ange would have alot of trust in him.

Which is fair. The only untouchables in my opinion are:
Vic
VDV
Udogie
Sarr
Maddison - because it would cost a fortune to replace effectively
I think we would entertain bids on anyone else at this point
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I thought we could return Maddison to Leicester I would. Never got the hype. Streaky player if ever there was one. MGW would be much better in that role imo
