If we don't sign some players soon, Burton will have them all.

He may have played for N Forest but I'm very sad to read of the premature death of Kevin Campbell. Such a likeable man and one from my youth following football.

May he rest in peace

Also a shout out to Millwall's GK who at 26 has passed away. Incredibly young

Awful news, R.I.P. 💔

Feels like the first Euro Championship in a long time we don't have anyone representing one of the European nations. Usually have an Irish, Welsh, Scottish or Polish player representing Derby.

Well spotted Ang but he's not a Derby player anymore, is he?

Once a Ram etc.

Disappointing but not unexpected from England. Less than the sum of our parts. Bringing on workmanlike players in Gallagher and Bowen meant we held on to victory but a braver manager would have brought on more talented players like Palmer and Eze to regain control.

On that performance we won’t win anything but it’s early days in the tournament. A proper left-sided player would help but the worry was how poor we were at taking the sting out of the game with a bit of controlled possession in the second half. It reminded me of Cambridge away last season!

The continuous passing back to the GK became so frustrating to watch. Bellingham did not disappoint and he's an absolute beast on the ball. Incredible that he's so young and so mature.

England's left side is screaming out for more attack minded players. Saka was fabulous in the first half a d had their LWB on toast , just needed someone cutting in from the left too.

He may not have played a great deal in the PL but Grealish like Bellingham is a beast on the ball and does take numerous kicks - we seem to lack that strength when you look at players like Foden, Cole Palmer and Gordon.

Last night felt like the team was holding back in gear two and needed to move up a couple of gears with it's passing and movement. A little more swagger and we could have opened up Serbia.

Great comments, Vidal and Desi. It was disappointing and getting excited or depressed by one game is not in point. Teams have been known to start a tournament slowly only to pick up pretty quickly. Of course that picking up needs to happen sooner rather than later.

The next team selection and performance will tell us more.

Bring Cole Palmer in next game. He was on fire at the end of the season and has the great arrogance of youth.

Scotland have, as you suggested, started slowly and will now no doubt pick up pretty quickly......... 😎 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

They'll be taking several kick offs pretty quickly too if they keep that GK between the sticks.

Southgate out.

He is clueless tactically. The players seem to be shrinking. Harry Kane is one of our greatest ever centre forwards but he looks like Mikkel Beck on a bad day at the moment. These are magnificent players but the play is ponderous and lacking any hint of a swagger. FFS let’s have a bit of up and at ‘em before it’s too late. But we know that Gareth’s idea of a daring change will be to start Conor Gallagher next time out and that Cole Palmer’s only involvement will still be slicing up the half time oranges.

Unfortunately (or more likely, fortunately!!) I forgot all about the England/Denmark game and so have not had the pleasure/annoyance of watching it or even highlights. Something needs to change and fast, by all accounts.

Disappointed that we have yet to sign anyone (other than new technical staff) while Burton seem to be adopting a scattergun approach. Truth is I would far rather a considered and careful approach. Some of the names being bandied about, while interesting, seem unlikely as someone used to Prem wages is not really in our ballpark.

Question - is anyone in our merry group now on the Fans' board at the Club?

I too don't have the slightest interest in this competition Chicago. I think Jorvik watched it accompanied by some beers it seems. The logical Board member from this group would be View I'd say....although I can see some merit in having Spart on there....

....re new signings I've heard it said we're waiting for the new kit / shirt sponsor before announcing them....but really...who knows.....

That seems a bit extreme if true Terry. Get on with announcing say I!

I wouldn't say I'm not interested in the competition but right now it's hard to get enthused.

I was hoping we would sign Foden...but not now, I think he's poor.

International football leaves the nation depressed at the best of times. Unless Southgate stops fielding three RBs in the side we're going to remain disgruntled.

I'd be more worried if we haven't signed anyone by the time the preseason games start. Like to bring a positive spin to the thread but unfortunately not on this post. Omari Kellyman, once of Derby, is leaving Aston Villa for Chelsea in a £19 million deal.

Derby County sold him for the paltry sum of £600k. Three or four seasons ago when our administration season was about to start. I know Chelsea are also interested in an ex Derby County LB currently in Belgium and looking to pay a similar figure.

I suspect once Eze or Olise leave Palace they'll be paying a healthy sum to Plymouth for Whittaker. Who was in a repeating theme an ex Derby County player.

posted on 23/6/24

It is rumoured we get 25% of any sell-on fee for Kelly an. I haven't seen it confirmed but if true that's close to 5 million in the kitty. I know Quantuma sold off Kaide Gordon's sell-on clause for peanuts to pay a bill but I'm hoping it isn't true of others like Kellyman and Delap. Could make a big difference to our prospects.
