Poch to United isn't actually as silly as some think it is this time bizarrely.
Whoever comes in next won't be competing for the league title in the next 3-4 years anyway because that's how far away we are. So getting someone who is good
with younger players actually makes a lot of sense for us. Chelsea did play some good football this season too but like us they were hampered massively by injuries. Two of their big money moves have barely kicked a ball all season which is crazy.
I wouldn't be overly upset if we hired Poch next. It probably makes more sense this summer than the last time we were linked with him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ETH is good with young players. It's his main strength
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's bad with stopping chances
...and creating chances
...and coming from behind
...and from winning with 2+goals ahead
...and from buying decent players
Poch is great friends with Ashworth

Not much usually. If it’s true about the noises coming out of Chelsea that they want a young manager that will toe the line on recruitment, then it doesn’t sound like De Zerbi would be considered.
But then Chelsea’s owners do seem to be trying their best to be Brighton, even finishing in the same positions in the table that they do.
Maybe RDZ will go for the compo then return to real football management.

Having read Scholay's other comments it seems I was wrong to give him the benefit of the doubt here!
Poche is leaving Chelsea because he wants more say in transfers. He simply fell out with senior management. The say in transfers is a key reason why Poch won't be signing for Utd. Jim has recruited Ashworth as DoF and Wilcox as Technical Director. A coach will report into both, the coach will be expected to have no say in transfers.
The biggest failure of our current structure or lack of pre Jim was the absence of a DoF and allowing ETH, a coach, to have a say in transfers. It was a mess of an arrangement that lacked direction and purpose from top to bottom. Transfers were sporadic, adding to an already imbalanced squad - the hallmark of previous transfers from failed managers.
Whilst ETH has polarised opinion, for now, he'll do. Under professional guidance and a plan the squad will be overhauled over a number of windows. I'm sure Ashworth, whilst on gardening leave, has been is talks with Wilcox and Jim in terms of the playing style and template they wish the club to adopt, recruitment will revolve around this blueprint. Over the summer the spine of the team will be assessed and hopefully fixed. I hope we see telltale signs of improvement next season, patterns of play & control and controlled pressing (I.e. the triggers, the traps, intensity and pace of pressing in numbers). For all that to happen we must address fitness, an elite club needs its squad in elite condition. So, everything ETH stands for but was unable to instill because of inadequate attributes within the current squad. If we don't see improvements then another "coach" with zero say in transfers will be hired.

That’s not the same as letting a manager choose signings, and suggesting that the coach will have no say in transfer is bloody daft. Of course they’ll have some say, because the recruitment team will obviously need to consult with the coach on what type of players, and in which area of the pitch, we’ll be recruiting.

RB&W, nothing I've stated is not already in the public domain. All I am saying in addition is that a structure with the talent of Ashworth and Wilcox has to result in performance gains - through astute recruitment first and foremost. Watch ETH transform the team when encouraged to stick to his core principles. Why does one require inside knowledge to reach such conclusion?
Ornstein stating it could be one to watch and also Poch met Ineos for the Nice job. (He'd get the horrible one at United).

If Klopp had his way Liverpool would not have signed Salah, he wanted Brandt!
Consulted in terms of asking what areas of the team need reinforcing then finding the players for the coach, nothing beyond that.
Going back to Chelsea, their transfer strategy is bonkers tbh and all coaches will have issues with a club opting for the best youngsters only and very few experienced players.

OK fess up. Do you actually work for, or are in the loop with, INEOS Sport?

RB&W, nothing I've stated is not already in the public domain. All I am saying in addition is that a structure with the talent of Ashworth and Wilcox has to result in performance gains - through astute recruitment first and foremost. Watch ETH transform the team when encouraged to stick to his core principles. Why does one require inside knowledge to reach such conclusion?

Ornstein stating it could be one to watch and also Poch met Ineos for the Nice job. (He'd get the horrible one at United).

That’s part of it. But from what I’ve read is that he’s been against certain players being sold and Chelsea’s overall recruitment strategy.
That’s not the same as letting a manager choose signings, and suggesting that the coach will have no say in transfer is bloody daft. Of course they’ll have some say, because the recruitment team will obviously need to consult with the coach on what type of players, and in which area of the pitch, we’ll be recruiting.
If you think that ETH is going to stay and just let the club get on with things without being consulted on recruitment then I have a bridge to sell you.
