Pochettino a manager on the down? I think given his Chelsea did toward the end of the season his stock is pretty high
There were loads of leaks towards the end of Ole’s time saying McKennas training sessions were amateur and uninspiring. The players didn’t seem to buy into his methods. Perhaps (if true) they were the likes of Ronaldo and other long gone players so won’t be an issue but curious to see if that would be a problem if he comes in.
He’s been on the down since the last year at Spurs. I don’t think his stock is particularly high because Chelsea went on a bit of a run towards the end of the season, especially as he’s been sacked, something many Chelsea fans have been calling for all season - rightly or wrongly.

Chelsea fans who didn’t want him you’d imagine would likely have those thoughts be fueled by his time at Spurs and how it was never gonna be a dream ticket.
I know many Chelsea fans and every one of them feel that Poch did well this season and very much deserved to continue to next year and build on the promise of what he started. Their loss will be our gain unless we are dumb enough to hire a guy who’s proved nothing except replicate Vincent Kompanys path

‘Leaks’ always come out about training sessions when managers are going to be sacked, I don’t really put much stock in them.
I think appointing someone like McKenna would indicate that the club are looking to move on established players to go with young players. Personally, I don’t think that’s a good transfer policy for United. One of the biggest problems we’ve had is a lack of players in their prime. That’s something they need to address, and balance it with youngsters and experienced players - it’s what all successful teams do.
If we go down the route of pinning our hopes on young players like Chelsea have, I can only see that ending up in failure, like Chelsea.

Possibly, and many due to the crap performances and some awful results. I don’t think he did well nor bad, personally. It’s hard to really make much judgement given the mess Chelsea are. But on the surface of it they spent most of the season in the bottom half of the table and finished sixth - can’t imagine many from the outside would look at that and think Poch’s stock is high. This isn’t the same guy that managed Spurs, things have changed since then and the PSG job damaged his rep as well.
If Ten Hag IS sacked tomorrow I can assure you that we will still give him and the team a great ovation at Wembley before during and after the game. Dont worry about that. Despite if we as individuals think that he deserves the sack. We go to support United as one. That includes the entire team (even the players some of us might not rate) and the manager and his staff.

Agreed. The people that formulate these plans have a mentality borne from the mind of Redastomatoes where youth is the elixir to everything but forget that a club like United is and always will be a fast moving train that can’t afford to slow down for passengers because every game we lose is a disaster to an extent and the more losses that accumulate over a season end up taking us back to square one as we’re just too big to ‘go away’ for a couple of seasons to properly rebuild. We have to find that right mix of competing but as you say with a mix of older and younger players.
That’s why SAF was so successful. He understood the right 28 year old was just as important as the right 21 year old. And understood to keep moving as a club you needed to have the right mix of ages from young to old peaking when they needed to knowing that they had young ones chasing their place in the side just as they had older heads in the squad being the right inspiration to learn from
It’s also a transfer policy that is more often used by clubs that lack the financial resources to compete with the best, but this doesn’t apply to United.
It doesn’t apply to Chelsea either, which makes it even more bizarre they’ve chosen this policy and then put over a billion of their own money into the club. Chelsea should have been competing for the title with the money Chelsea have spent under Clearlake, instead they finished midtable and then competed for the Europa. It’s facking amateur.

I know this may be a bit of a stretch. But it was reported widely all week that ETH's future was dependent upon the result tomorrow. Obviously it would be mental to think that they'd make such a crucial decision based on one result, but perhaps Ineos wanted to quell those rumours altogether by leaking this info?
Like I said, it's a stretch. But if I were in their position and was minded to sack the manager what ever happens, I wouldn't want rumours of having based it on one result, with it being their biggest decision so far

Hopefully he puts his money where his mouth is and actually commits to doing what’s needed to be done both on the pitch and also in the stadium etc
Or else it’ll be another depressing 10 years
I doubt he’ll be putting much of his own money into doing those things, to be honest. He can use the club’s own funds to do it, especially if he can get all the Glazer’s shares and get rid of the ridiculous interest on the debt. That’s something the club will still be paying off.
