The Ipswich boss also fits INEOS’ criteria for a young manager, as well as being well suited to a ‘head coach’ role, relative to alternatives.


This guy is supposed to have close links to United.

The squad was less than impressed during his first stint as coach. I've been impressed by his achievements since but do worry whether he has the personality to deal with big egos and all the machinations in a big club.

He's a good manager. Proved it at Ajax and has proved it to some degree already at United. One poor season does not make a good manager poor. If that were the case then Klopp was poor when Liverpool hired him.

To think he's under pressure at United for winning 2 trophies in 2 seasons, when if this were at Spurs he'd be considered a legend by the fans.

It depends what our fans' standards are. We are meant to be the biggest club in the world. Would Real Madrid be happy with 8th and bottom of a crap CL group? You don't have to be happy with whatever is currently happening, just to avoid any sort of negative emotions. You'll just end up topping yourself eventually.

I thought the other day that perhaps we've been talking with McKenna to tell him to choose his jobs carefully and that he'll be a strong candidate to be United manager in a few years. Perhaps that's what has happened here?

If it’s not Tuchel then I would just keep Erik at this point, the managerial market is just absolutely dead right now
