I get what you’re saying, though. But I guess if they’re looking at what short term goals need to be achieved, for the club to achieve long term goals, then they may not want to go into this season with a manager they don’t see being at the club beyond next summer.


That short term goal will be CL qualification. I’d be surprised if they’d happily jeopardise that (if that’s what they deem to be the case by keeping ETH in situ) because they’re still getting their feet under the table.

And there’s also the pressures from shareholders, particularly the Glazers. Ineos may have been tasked with running football operations, but I don’t for a second think the Glazers won’t be pressuring them to make sure the club are qualifying for CL football.

That email thing wasn't a mistake. It was deliberate. Berrada can't spill the beans on City due to the clause in his contract but, if there's an investigation, then they'll be looking through all his emails and will find some incriminating evidence of something. 4D chess from United. Well, that's what I've told some City fans I know anyway.

I have always felt that it wouldn't take much for Ineos to come out and say, yep ETH is staying next season. To review their options so blatantly in ETH's face, as it seems they are by considering so many options, it's not a great way to treat the current jobholder. No doubt if he ETH stays, Ineos will say it was never in doubt, but that's not how they are acting
