He’s not though. Cups are papering over the cracks.
No serious team accepts eighth place and a cup win.
Madrid finish eighth and win the Copa Del Rey? They sack the manager.
City finish eighth and win the FA Cup? They sack the manager.
Juve finish eighth and win the Coppa Italia? They sack the manager.
Barca finish eighth and win the Copa Del Rey? They sack the manager.
Bayern finish eighth and win the DFB Pokal? They sack the manager.
Liverpool did actually finish eighth, but won the League Cup. The consequence? They sacked Dalglish.
We need to be serious and act like a proper club.

Klopp finished 8th and Liverpool kept him, he had similar points per game as the manager Rodgers who was sacked for poor form that season and lost the cup finals.

Does that not simply suggest that a fair bit of luck is required to win cup competitions then..............
It is rare for Man Utd to reach 3 domestic cup finals even in 4 years, let alone 2.
How do you know they are better.
And it's not just the cup, which was great, we also won the league cup, reached the final of the cup, finished in the top 4 comfortably.
They need to bear in mind our truly awful injury list, the Greenwood loss and Sancho's behaviour.
Imagine our forward strength if he could have played those in form.
He's also good with youth as Mainoo and Garnacho show, and he's given minutes to others.
It was the first time two teenagers have scored in a final.
United were built on youth, and this continues
So I hope they act in a professional manner and keep him for the last year of his contract, and see how he can do under the new set up.
Klopp did naff all in his first 2 seasons.

I don't mind people putting forward arguments to support their view. But equally, you don't know if Sancho or Greenwood would have played well, or turned in a season like Rashford.
I'm not sure any of what you have said explains the kamikaze approach in midfield, the general poor attitude in many games where we have been outfought, and what is our bread and butter, the league, where we finished 8th and on a -ve goal difference.
I can accept that the cup wins are good, Saturday's performance was great, but can you accept that there are things which lie at ETH's door and are not just reasons or excuses?

Of course injuries are a reason ridiculous to pretend otherwise. Our first pairing of CBs were out a large part of the season. Our back ups Lindelof and Harry missed a lot, we finished up with Evans and Casimiro.
Shaw missed a lot of the season. Martial all of it so it all had to rest on Hojlund's shoulders, who coped manfully.
It's not discovering youth, no manager does that, it's trusting them, encouraging them, he's good with it. After the match he got the two together and hugged them, they play for him.
And again how do you know the players mentioned.

Ten Hag is responsible for the injuries though. It’s widely reported that his training sessions are too intense.
Also Liverpool had massive injuries this season too, yet they still had a style of play; plus winning a cup and finishing top 4.
Look at the pens we kept getting denied this season kinsang. I honestly find it baffling the penalties we conceded vs the penalties we won. No foul dives= pens against. Clear fouls against us not given. Heck in the cup final was McTominay cleaned out? AAgainat Coventry the only handball that shpuld have been a penalty was the arm ball out of the box. Remember Liverpool in FA Cup fouled Fernandes and goal stands.
Heck in the league Rashford one on one with the keeper, Walker kicks and pushes him and Man City score at the other end a few seconds later. Any non-corrupt ref sends Walker off and disallows the goal.
