Would like to see her do well, but she really doesn’t help herself. Admitting afterwards she needs to play more tournaments before Slams, having had 3 weeks off before the US Open … and having previously opted out of the potentially once in a lifetime Olympic experience in Paris. I mean, doh! She hasn’t won a match at the US Open since winning it in 2021. Injuries have been a big problem, but she also seems to be in stubbornly self-destruct mode with career decisions.

I feared for her as soon as I saw her first-round draw

She really needs to play more tennis. Serena is the goat, and even she found it hard to find her best when she didn’t play enough, this girl has no chance doing it.

If she won more matches she'd play more tennis.

I was wondering why she didn’t play another tourney in the lead up to the US Open. I believe she made the right decision to not go to the Olympics.
But I’m sorry, Kenin may be good but Radders shouldn’t have lost that game.
This is on her… poor preparation. I know she’s come back from injury, but she’s more or less got through the season fine. Her body has held up.

Emma has got game, I mean look how close it was, and yet her last match play was nearly a month ago.
She can’t be doing that, especially if there was nothing wrong with her.

Raducanu facks me off. Yes, injuries. Yes, recovery. Blah blah. All true. But if she had the mentality of the likes of Serena or Djokovic, she'd put tennis above all else. She seems to think she's unique somehow, like she's the only player who can have a weird, match-light, no-coach setup and still win. It doesn't work like that. I get wanting to do things her own way but at this point it looks like she thinks she can fit actual tennis matches in whenever she can be bothered, and still win. Oddly enough, other players who put tennis first and play more matches tend to end up better prepared, physically and technically.

Picking and choosing the tournaments to participate works for the likes of Djokovic, Federer or Nadal who have already won everything going and who know their games inside out. She's barely played any tennis considering she's been on the tour for, what, four years now (injuries acknowledged). She should be getting as much match experience as she physically can, not acting like some great champion who can pick and choose at her leisure
