Families who treat it like a day out

Only one of you needs to go food shopping. 2 adults and 2 little runts walking side by side is insane.

No problem with that. Supermarkets have been helping themselves during the cost of company profits crisis. What goes around comes around

----------------------------------------------------------------------
it wont eat into their profits, they will increase prices accordingly

They charge more for plastic bags now, but I'm sure they've made them smaller.

The fact that supermarkets sack till workers and create self serve checkouts that the customers have to operate themselves without any training, that never work properly, and they dont adjust their prices to compensate the customer against the massive savings they make by adopting this policy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Without training???

Is this a joke?

Workers and customers, often known to each other, having a good old chinwag after the transaction is finished, with no care in the world about the queue behind them.

You wondering why you have to sit through a 30 minute training course on the tills everytime you shop?

pointless, we cant arm security guards, they have been instructed not to tackle them for this exact reason.

Where the hell do you people shop?!

I hardly see any of the things on this thread. Occasionally you get a meat loiterer and an older person at the tills taking ages - but that's usually my fault for picking the wrong queue.

I've never seen anyone walk out of a shop without paying. Perhaps I'm just really unobservant

Only two things that annoy me are:

1) Closing a till when the shop is busy and there are already queues at other tills.

2) People who are rude to staff at supermarkets. Whatever you're annoyed about, it's not their fault. If the checkout person says hello (because they're trained to), just say hello back rather than ignore them you d*ck.

My biggest issue in supermarkets is the self-checkouts.

If I wanted to have been a checkout boy i would have dropped out of school early. It is one of the biggest cons ever that supermarkets make self-checking out more appealing by making the checkouts less appealing by understaffing them.

its turning into a rather large problem in london with the thieves. cos the thieves also now know that security have been informed to not get involved as these people are usually armed.

Loads of people get annoyed at having to wait behind people with big shops if they're just buying a few things. They self-serve a purpose.
