I won't lie when it comes to buying chicken breasts, i do check the underside of the packaging to see which breasts has the least amounts of the red bloody blotches on the undersides of them.
I tend to find Asda and Aldi do pretty crappy chicken, Tesco isn't so bad
I'll also open the box of eggs to see which ones do no have bird sh!!t or feathers all over them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t get thinking for your second point. Are UK people too ‘Sanitised’ with their food, and animal products? The actual part of the egg you’re eating will be protected no matter how many feathers or bird chit is on the egg shell. You may as well wipe all your eggs clean before using.

My biggest issue in supermarkets is the self-checkouts.
If I wanted to have been a checkout boy i would have dropped out of school early. It is one of the biggest cons ever that supermarkets make self-checking out more appealing by making the checkouts less appealing by understaffing them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS THIS THIS!
They require less staff to oversee them meaning that the supermarket has less wages it has to pay for manning tills increasing its profits whilst taking jobs away. All that and MAKING YOU THE CUSTOMER DO FOR FREE WHAT SOMEONE ELSE SHOULD BE PAID TO DO. Complete liberty and we just go along with it! Not to mention the SST’s that have screens recording you with their facial recognition. I’ve walked out of such supermarkets that have only had these tills open
I will go to a till that actually has a cashier serving even if it takes longer…
and use cash, I don’t care!
Still doing my bit to delay the new world order
To the poster that asked about people letting you go ahead if you have only a few items in ALDI, that does still happen and it’s refreshing to see. I’ve let others ahead myself and also been allowed to ‘jump’
As mentioned elsewhere, other customers dumping unwanted items wherever regardless of chilled, frozen is just bad manners and laziness. Just makes more unnecessary work for the staff, people only think of themselves.
My eggsperience of self Czech-outs is they need lotsa staff too help people on em as much as if they were proper Czech-outs with peeple
