He offers fack all going forward, but has looked decent there for Liverpool when he’s had to play. Could use his strength in the air as well.

He's good at finding space and driving up the pitch then laying it off, when on the left but that's about the height of it, in terms of going forward. I wouldn't say he's particularly strong in the air either.

He's got pace and good on the ball, which I'd say are his best traits, at centre back.

What happened isn’t well established, but if what has been said is true then White proved his point by having a strop and returning home from the world cup.

And not even having the bottle to call Southgate himself to tell him he wasn’t available for selection, makes him look even more pathetic.

Southgate’s handled it bloody well because he’s continually reached out to White to see if he’s available for selection, and hasn’t thrown him under the bus with the media.

Last 19 games - 12 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses - Gernany, France, Italy, Belgium, Brazil in that run.

We have a coherent style. Zero chance of an Iceland happening at this tournament - Southgate warned against it and cut some senior players which keeps players on their toes.

We’re going with La liga player of the year, Prem player of the year, Bundesliga top scorer - England, France, Portugal and Germany/Spain will be semi finalists. That’s when the real tournament starts

I'd have to go back and do some research but I remember at the time thinking Southgates versions of events didn't really make much sense and I didn't really blame White for not playing.

Agree with the general consensus that Dunk over Branthwaite is a bit suspect.

I've really liked Maddison's cameos for England and feel he's the kind of player that can get on the ball and change a game. Not entirely sure I see the rationale behind taking all of Toney, Watkins and Bowen.

Personally would have gone with Maddison and Branthwaite over Dunk and one of the attackers mentioned (Bowen probably).

Indeed. 2002 was annoying though as the German side that made the final consisted of Kahn, Ballack, Klose and 8 cloggers. Brazil had Turkey in the semis.
