I don’t doubt that United have and if it were me then I wouldn’t be happy but this is the nature of employment as a football manager. My £8m salary and employability elsewhere would help me sleep at night.

And also: Erik ten Hag said he will “go somewhere else to win trophies, because that is what I do” if Manchester United decide to part ways with the manager.

I think that statement demonstrated having a spine.

If I was getting paid the thick end of a million quid a month, I'd lie back in my deckchair, sip my Campari and smile. And then I'd contemplate my pay off and laugh.

Clearly the new INEOS lot are squabbling over their garden hedges with each other about if he is to stay or not, or who should replace him, and who has the most say about the final outcomes.

Jim really, really needs to clarify this situation and back or sack the manager to knock the speculation on the head. It's as if the Glazers are still running the circus.

No way I would resign in such a scenario because you don't get a pay off if you resign and Ratcliffe would be proud and see himself as a genius for saving that money.

The solution to being publicly embarrassed by someone is not to give that person exactly what they want. Wait until they sack you and take every last penny at least. Would be very stoopid to resign IMO.

I was hoping the first thing they would do is introduce a policy of being professional but alas it seems they aren't any different in fact probably worse in some respects to what United had before.

As others have touched on, Depends on what was written into my contract. I m not giving up a well paid job without a pay off when I've done nothing wrong and even brought awards to the company.

Makes you wonder if these reports of interviews is genuine. 😉

Ten Hag was quite clear on his feelings post the FA Cup final. He has to keep some of his opinions in house but it felt like he came out fighting for his position.

He isn't going to resign when he could have a large amount of compensation at his disposal should he be sacked either. Not that he needs the money, he comes from vast wealth in Holland.
