Judah reckons no game coming soon as another round of storms is rolling through.

shoulda played it in Phoenix, we had rain once

Gotta think of Doherty and Doyle though, wouldn't survive more than a couple of hours in Arizona with those Irish genes. Add O'Neil to that list too I guess.

Well, we started out up I95 and began seeing the heavy black clouds further north. We checked the radar and saw a huge amount of bad stuff making its way east. I told the missus, that I doubted whether the match would go ahead, knowing what the Florida rain is capable of. So we're back home and I have just seen that there is more rain in the forecast. I would think the pitch will start gathering water, even though it drains quickly.

Winning 1-0 with a goal from Cunha. Assist Larsen.

You shoulda known Florida won't bow to a little rain Wolfie, this ain't the UK.

Cunha off injured ffs

Very surprised they haven't had any more showers, although it looks like there's more rain coming from the west.

Ait-Nouri should have closed their scorer down and it's why he's far better as a wing back. He's played well, but it's that kind of error that lets him down in that position. I do like the look of Mosquera.

Very enjoyable game and all 3 goals well taken. New additions looking good. Did you get to watch it cinci?

posted on 28/7/24

Nah didn't watch it, had some running about to do.

Sounds like it was a good effort and we were more prepared than West Ham.

Rodrigo Gomez with two second half goals is awesome. Lima set up the second. Guedes dialled in apparently. All in all a nice start to proper pre season.

Look forward to going to Molineux in a couple of weeks for the friendly against Rayo Vallecano

Unless it’s raining of course

Starting to watch back the 90 minutes. Wolves lining up 4231 with Sarabia, Cunha and Chiquinho playing behind Strand Larsen. Lovely first goal with Sarabia winning the ball on the right then feeding Strand Larsen who made an excellent pull back for Cunha to slot home. Cunha the outstanding player in the early stages

posted on 28/7/24

Cunha felt a twinge behind his knee when playing a pass through to Strand Larsen with the outside of his foot. Carried in for 5 minutes before going off. Seemed to be just a precautionary substitution but who knows. West Ham equaliser was against the run of play and disappointingly simple with Kudus going past Ait Nouri then shooting in with Bentley not covering his near post. Decent first half from Wolves generally with good performances from Lemina and Sarabia

Mass changes after an hour with every player apart from Bentley replaced. Second goal came from Bellegarde winning the ball in midfield and driving forward 30 yards before playing in Guedes who was now centre forward. He was tackled but the ball ran free to Gomes who finished really well into the roof of the net. Third goal came from Lima getting space on the right making lots of ground before crossing to the far post for an excellent header from Gomes

A game that Wolves dominated and deserved to win. With lots of positives. Good to have a proper centre forward in Strand Larsen who made good runs and is comfortable on the ball. Great start for Gomes with his goals and Lima looks much more confident than the usual kid of his age. Cundle looked tidy in midfield and never gave the ball away. Mosquera and Toti were the defensive pair first half and looked generally good although West Ham did win a few headers when dead balls were played into the box. We looked more in control there once Dawson came on. Chirewa again looked promising when he came on. Not too impressed with Chiquinho who rarely got past his man and his crosses were always over hit. And I do worry how Ait Nouri will adapt to being in a back 4. Made a couple of errors and rarely got forward which we know is the best part of his game. But an encouraging start for the team

Akin to what I mentioned at the end of the OP (not the Tom King/Hoever part), my lad seems to be worryingly impressed with the over night result, he's away with him mum this weekend visiting family but I've had more messages from him this morning than in the last month. The optimism of youth!

Surprised that Bentley played 90 minutes. Even in these games Tom King is never seen

posted on 28/7/24

Think we might have to get used to calling players Santi and Hugo, and Joao and Rodrigo. Better than Bueno, Bueno, Gomes and Gomes

Semedo suspended for the opening league games so be interesting to see who takes his place at Arsenal. Lima impressed everyone in the last half hour but to be fair Doherty also played well in the first hour

You two clowns try driving in torrential rain where you can hardly see the car in front, on an interstate. It was the other half that wanted to turn around and I concurred that it was the best and safest thing to do.

At least I made an effort, but it sounds like our esteem DJ couldn't even be bothered to stay up.

Fortunately, I managed to watch it.

By the way cinci, the next match is again on Bein, if you have cable.

Not sure if we should stick to a back 4, although West Ham didn't do too much to worry any of the defenders. Fine work by Sarabia, Larsen and Cunha or our first goal and I like the look of the newbies, Gomes and Lima. Even Guedes looked decent, so I do wonder what's going to happen with him. He is one of our biggest earners, but I doubt he'll warrant a starting spot.

posted on 28/7/24

Guedes is certainly an interesting case. Rumoured he has apologised to GON and wants to fit into the squad. No doubt he is a good player and it would be a big plus for us if he stayed.

posted on 28/7/24

Would think the tricky part for GON right now is who will stay. Planning for a side with Ait-Nouri or not, likewise Neto. Neto the easiest replaced I think, Gomes and Guedes would bolster that area.

Would Toti be the lb option in a four anyway, not Ait-Nouri. Ait-Nouri is quite the conundrum this summer.

posted on 28/7/24

All about attitude with Guedes. Would any enthusiasm he has now still be there in November or if he spent a lot of time on the bench. Didn’t think he did much today and can’t help thinking he’s here to see out his contract and nobody else wants him. Hope he proves me wrong
