Wolves v West Ham Match Thread

RAN is and GON has to decide who his best defenders are, whether in a back 3 or 4. Doherty, Semedo, Toti, Mosquera, Dawson, S. Bueno, H. Bueno and Air-Nouri are the contenders.

We also have to be careful of the amount of foreign players (over 21) we have, as I believe there are 19.

I have a feeling we're going to do much better this season and we look to have a very good, balanced squad.

Ait Nouri is a conundrum. Don’t think there’s much doubt he’s more wing back than full back so what’s his position if we don’t play with wing backs. Do think whoever from last year’s first team would need replacing. Still think we need another centre back to replace Kilman. Same would apply if we sold Neto and Ait Nouri. Always been the two aims this summer to me. Replace anyone that leaves and increase the squad from 19 to 24

Think we might have to get used to calling players Santi and Hugo, and Joao and Rodrigo. Better than Bueno, Bueno, Gomes and Gomes

I hope we can sort out the futures of Fabio, Podence, Hoever and Guedes soon. I'm not sure where Hwang features in the set up, as he certainly didn't do much last night.

Thought Guedes turned a poor ball from Bellegarde in to a good one with his touch in the lead up to the second goal. Only seen brief highlights so can't really comment on the test of his game. He showed that when he's committed he can produce the goods, that Brighton goal for example.

In Paraguay’s game in the Olympics yesterday Enso Gonzalez was stretchered off after 10 minutes and its now been confirmed he suffered a ruptured ACL and will be out of action for at least 6 months

Not much to add to this outstanding match thread.

Personally I’m still reeling from the revelation that you can only sell something if someone wants to by it, and if a player has a contract with a club then the club is also contacted to the player!

Every day is a school day

Couldn't understand that comment either from

Anyway, it's a shame about Gonzalez, but at 19, he 's got plenty of time to prove himself, as he's contracted until 2028.

I think of all the players on the pitch last night, the one that got my attention the most was Mohammed Kudus, their #14.

posted on 28/7/24

A nice gesture from GON last night was by giving young Rawlings the last 15 mins. or so, only 16 years old.

posted on 28/7/24

Evidently if we wanted to sell Gonzalez then we would need to find someone to buy him?

Also, his contract until 2028 goes both ways between club and player. 👍

I’m here all week.

Always entertaining to see the exchanges between dumb and dumber. Wolfie has always been a moron but WnkOff gives him a good run for his money

Stopped raining in Jacksonville now wolfie, your wife might give you permission to go out tomorrow

With the Bentley to Arsenal stories going on, wolves are now being linked with the former Albion keeper Sam Johnstone to sign as standby keeper

I have a feeling Wolfie never left his porch.

You two clowns try driving in torrential rain where you can hardly see the car in front, on an interstate.

I once drove from Tampa to Orlando in those conditions.

Sa, Semedo, Neto and Joao Gomes are due to join the Wolves squad today to begin their preparation for the new season

At the 2020 euros Saka was involved in the final and Arteta only selected him as sub on the first day of the season due to his late start to pre season. This year Saka, Rice, Saliba and both their keepers Raya and Ramsdale were still involved at the final stage. So it could be a weakened Arsenal team that Wolves face in their first league game

Not Saliba

Still looks like Podence will head to Olympiakos this summer. He posted a photo of himself online in their strip yesterday which he surely wouldn’t have done if his heart was with staying at Wolves

Two players that look like they may be cementing a place in the squad this season are Bellegarde and Cundle. There’s surely more to come from Bellegarde who impressed at times last season in an injury affected season. While Cundle impressed against West Ham and is a tidy player and also very fit. The whole squad had a long distance running race in Marbella and he came home first

I did. I've been to Florida several times and have been there for both Hurricane Charley and Hurricane Irma too. Probably driven in torrential rain there in double digits now, as you regularly get storms.

The time I mentioned I drove back in those conditions was in 2018 and we had been to Busch Gardens. We left as torrential rain hit which flooded all the paths in the park and made us look like we had been in a swimming pool. Whilst driving on the I4, there was a lightning strike on the side of the road. Everyone else in the car had fallen asleep and the noise was so loud that everyone of them came out with multiple expletives when they woke up.

When reverts to name calling, then I know it's hit a nerve.

Carry On Spangles (aka DJ Molineux, teacher, etc) as the #1 ace reporter. By the way, nice to read that Cundle came first in a long distant race.

Bet your other half is glad you're either on here 24/7 or away at matches.

So you were here when Charley hit Tammy, 20 years ago huh. You must have still been in short trousers then.

Always the same with dear wolfie. Throws out insults like confetti then cries like a baby when the tide is turned, probably soon claim I’ve had a grudge against him since the First World War

Hope your wife approves of you coming on here and making a fool of yourself every week. She would probably know what’s best and safest for you.

I’ve driven in rain, snow, ice, fog to well over a thousand football matches in my life. Not once has the weather stopped me going. Maybe you need a braver guardian than your wife
